We visited London during the Easter weekend to see a play at the Gielgud that our sister-in-law was appearing in. I found 22 York Street on the Sawday website. The location could not be more central, just off Baker Street and very close to Tube and bus connections. The house is a large Georgian terraced house and Michael and Liz...

if you look out for a place where you can relax and calm down a bit from the great but often stressful city this is the perfect choice. 22 york street is pretty quiet, still central, with a personal, tasteful style, lovely staff, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, great value for money...in other words to me it is perfect.

We have visited 22 Yorke Street a number of times now and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Having read the previous and recent review, I am left wondering if they have mistaken where they actually stayed with somewhere else! We have always had a very warm and helpful greeting, the staff spoke excellent English, the breakfast was amazing and to...

I have been regularly staying at 22 York Street for some 14 years or longer. Liz and Michael Callis's B&B has become a second home for a weary business traveller. Invariably comfortable, welcoming, convenient,, wonderful sense of character in the individual rooms, quiet (very important for me!) and within budget. A wonderful place!

I requested a room in DECEMBER and I did not get an email back until early MARCH to confirm the dates I requested. Once I emailed them back confirming my dates they asked for my card information to hold the room, but I guess since I didn't email back in time they gave the room to someone else and emailed...

I've found my new London base. The wonderful hosts are welcoming and interesting. The location is perfect - a quick walk or one tube stop from Paddington Station. Touring was easy as it's located just steps away from the bus stop (never waited more than 2-3 minutes) and Baker Street tube station. Can't wait to return!

This was our first visit to London, and I consider ourselves lucky to pick this B&B. Michael and his staff are really very good. We were met by some very friendly people and felt at home immediately. We travelled from South Africa and arrived very early. Our rooms were ready and we got a breakfast as a bonus. The rooms...

We spent 3 nights in this lovely quaint B&B at the start of our UK/Europe trip. The house was comfortable and welcoming as were the hosts. The location (Marylebone) was very handy to the tube and Paddington Station. The communal breakfasts were an ideal way of meeting other guests and our hosts were helpful and very customer focussed. We would...

I've never stayed in a B&B, and my British neighbor picked this place out for my trip with my 83 yo mom. We've both been to London many times, but this was my Mom's first trip back in many years and I wanted to try something new. The house is lovely and the staff were very attentive. Location is nice...

22 York St was recommended via word of mouth. A stones throw from Baker St Station, surrounded by shops and cafes and the 'buzz' London has to offer. What I loved most was the feeling of home from home. The staff at 22 are extremely welcoming and personable. The house boasts charm and character with it's eclectic interior. Breakfast from...

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
