Blackfriars may not be the first place anyone thinks about one choosing a hotel in London but it is actually very well placed for the City and the West End, with the tube station next door. We found it really convenient for both. The rooms are a good size, nicely furnished and with all the essentials; they follow the Crowne... More

My sister in law and I stayed at this hotel in September 2016 for 3 nights and had a great stay, the room was spacious and the beds were both doubles and lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the complimentary toiletries were lovely. The breakfast had everything you could want both hot and cold, the hotel is in... More

Lovely hotel. Very attentive staff. Had few issues with our initial room and staff were unbelievably attentive to us and arranged an upgraded room. Could not speak highly enough of the hotel or if the staff. Would definitely return and recommend to my friends!

We stayed at Crowne Plaza London The City 4 nights. As Platinum IHG Rewards, we had a good surprise to be upgraded to a club room with lounge access. The room was very large, quiet and confortable. The only complain we had is that housekeeping randomly renewed tea, biscuits, water, soap or Q-tips. The lounge is small but it is... More

We stay here every year but it wasn't so good this year. Only one person on checkin so we had a long wait. We didn't get the automatic upgrade we are entitled to for being Ambassador. Just got the standard club room we booked. View into an office so very dark as the lighting is so poor. The pillows were... More

From the moment we stepped in, staff could not be more accommodating and attentive to our needs.a beautifull reception and lounge downstairs.Extremely friendly staff at all times, but always wanting to give you an excellent service, we felt very special during our stay. Individual touches made it even more fabulous. Will come back again for sure.

I stayed here for two nights. Check in was great and I was greeted by a really pleasant guy. I had booked a Club room on the 6th floor. The room itself was nice enough although the glass shower screen was dirty and could have been doing with a proper deep clean. The lounge was nice and the staff in... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
