Crowne Plaza - City in London is the perfect place to stay while visiting the sites in London or simply stopping off between destinations. It is located directly across the street from the Black Friars Underground Station which offers lifts to the streets so you don't have to carry luggage up flights of stairs. From London Heathrow take the underground...

I've stayed here over the new years eve weekend with my partner. There was a few minor mistakes but overall it was a fab experience, despite the fact that we had to change our rooms 2 times. Firstly it was because we were given a card to someone else's room and secondly because there was a leak in our room....

I wanted to write this review to talk about things that I wish others had mentioned when I was looking for a hotel. My family of 4 (kids are 20 and 16) all stayed in one double room over the week of Dec 27 - Jan 1. There was plenty of room for all of us in this room and...

We stayed in July 2016. The location isn;t very close to many of the tourist sites but it was right across the tube station and also walkable to St. Paul's cathedral. It was very easy to go places with public transport. Rooms were clean, the Chinese resturant downstairs was a great option if you don't want to go out for...

Overall good. A couple of glitches included getting the wrong type of room for our boys (we asked for separate beds when booking and they assigned incorrectly) which they corrected right away. Front desk person was nice. The bigger issue was asking for an adapter for my wife's hair straightener, and they instead gave us a converter, which fried the...

I booked this hotel with American Express travel and requested a room suitable for 4 guests knowing this is rare in Europe. It was confirmed. I then confirmed again with the Crowne Plaze 1-800 number and they confirmed my request was in the system and a room would be available. I paid for the night before my arrival from the...

Good location for the tube, the Thames, St Pauls and the Old Bailey all close by. Very nice comfortable clean room. Nice breakfast selection, although a very slow toaster was a bit of a pain and no blackcurrant jam. Very good noise insulation from the busy road traffic outside. I would stay again.

Stayed at Crowne Plaza London in December 2016. My family of 3 stayed at the hotel for 8 nights over the Christmas holidays. We arrived at 7am after an 11 hour flight and was greeted by friendly staff at reception who made us feel very welcome. The staff was most accommodating. The Hotel is ideally located just across from Blackfriars...

We stayed here for 8 days, which is a long hotel stay. This is so conveniently located for London...right across from the Blackfriars Tube station and very close to Westminister and even closer to St. Paul/Millennial bridge. Hotel is very nice and staff were generally accommodating. The hotel is clearly in the business district and since we were there for...

Our club-level hotel room was great with a view of St. Paul's, and breakfast and drinks included. The free mobile phone provided made navigating London a breeze, and the stocking on Christmas morning was a lovely surprise!

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
