I love staying here, its great pub inside with a really quirky restaurant. The location is amazing, we stayed on Friday night then woke on Saturday morning to a band playing outside as the portobello market was going on. It'g great value at around £85 for the standard room, however be prepared this is very very small, but for a...

The Gold has always been a very special place to stay at, it is unique. The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull and the atmosphere is just lovely. Most important to me is the location, because on a sat morning I can go early on Portobello road and hunt antiques before all the tourists come. During the week it´s cosy...

We had a wonderful stay at Portobello Gold. The service was wonderful...pub included. Alex and Jennifer were so friendly and helpful. Their hospitality made the stay that much better. Well located, clean and really cool. Very much recommend! A must try is Alex's tequila old fashioned!

We really enjoyed staying at Portobello Gold. The location of the hotel is great : on Portobello road and in Notting Hill. Above all : staff members are very very nice! Also, our room was small but quiet and clean. It was perfect for a small weekend.

This is our second stay and at the price we paid we did not expect a 5* venue. It was clean and comfortable, breakfast was basic, with excellent coffee. The staff were superbly friendly and welcoming (a real bonus). Excellent location on the Portobello Road.

The rooms are ok. Not much more, but who cares? Perfect location and good oysters. Thanks to the brilliant and helpful staff Alex and Helena, this has been one of my all time favourite trips to London.

Really expensive for what you get. Cramped room, the blinds were completely dirty, they dont block the light, the sheets were dirty as well, an overall disaster. Hostels these days offer much better conditions, for a better price. If it was not in London, it would a third of the price. Please improve the conditions.

The owner, Mike Bell, made us feel so welcome and the lady on reception was delightful and very helpful. We were upgraded to the 4 poster room which was brilliant and had a superb meal in the conservatory. First class dining experience. Thoroughly recommend this hidden gem in Portobello Road!

The garden terrace was great, would book a stay In the summer to be able to enjoy it more. It would be better if the bed had a mattress to fit rather than two single mattresses as the kept seperating.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
