The garden terrace was great, would book a stay In the summer to be able to enjoy it more. It would be better if the bed had a mattress to fit rather than two single mattresses as the kept seperating.

Came to the Gold last month for a quick drink and was happy to see there was live music on the same night. Good selection of popular beers but the staff were obviously stressed as it was quite a busy night. Live music was average, seemed to be a local amateur performer. Glad to see someone getting a foot in...

Shall we say Portobello Gold has lost it's sparkle, is very tired or just shabby sheek. The room was small, not an issue. The bathroom, or should I say cupboard was not very pleasant, the smell od damp was extremely unpleasant. Tee staff were friendly and helpful and the location was the reason for staying. I would not recommend it...

I had an excellent stay at Portobello Gold. I stayed for one night in the double bunk room with en-suite. It was small (as expected) but very clean and very well priced. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast (which was included in the price) was also great. I will definitely come back again with my partner and will look...

Perfect little classic hotel. Small bedroom but plenty of charm. Bathroom would need some improvements but it was fine for one night. Breakfast area was lusciously green and pleasant. Very nice family staff. I would happily return there.

The minute you step in you know it's going to be a great time. Bustling with locals and visitors alike, the atmosphere is a true British pub with all the trimmings. Our bartender was Swedish and served a great Guinness and a wonderful New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Hope to get back again.

Really friendly staff -thank you Alex - top location, great value for money. The Portobello Gold is a traditional old pub - right in the heart of the Portobello Market. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.

The Portobello Gold is an institution - an old school British pub with really fun and friendly staff. If you want a super smart hotel this is not the place for you. If you want good value, a reasonably comfortable room that is clean and functional, and a place with a bit of soul, then this is the place. Right...

Luckily we only booked for 1 night, the lovely gentleman who checked us in was probably the only good point to the hotel. The tiny shabby rooms with beds that make awful noises when you try and think about moving on them. Both our rooms were "en suite" but it's more a really smelly hole in your bedroom. We all...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
