A very nice hotel close to the underground and lots of restaurants at Queensway. The room was functional. Walkingdistance to Notting Hill and Portobello Road. I would gladly recommend it to friends.

Well located within 5 minutes walk of Bayswater tube, buses on Bayswater Road, shops, 2 pubs, restaurants and even bowling alley. Quiet location overnight and a very comfortable bed - really impressed!!. Receptionists friendly but mostly foreign and you cannot rely on their directions, even if they tell you that they have worked there for 3 years! The room was...

I expected better standard when the rate was £150 per night. There were many things that should have been fixed in our room, for instance mirror was broken, old carpet, stonehard beds. For this price continental breakfast should have been included. We also expected that the cleaners would do the dishes for us... but no... We had room out front,...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable, clean and tidy. Had great facilities in the room which was ideal so we could make our own food before going out and seeing the sights. Nice part of London, close to Portabello market (excellant) and nearest tube station (bayswater). Lots of bars and restauraunts nearby also. Only slight complain is we were...

My hopes were high but this place is TERRIBLE, not necessarily for its surroundings which are...well ok. It is the customer service that it lacks. In particular the rude and sarcastic attitude of a dreadlocked receptionist. Maybe the management should send that fella on a hospitality course so he can try and understand the notion of customer service, he clearly...

In a good location, with pleasant staff. The room wasn't large but was clean and the beds were pretty good. Free broadband was useful and easy to connect. Had all the items you could expect and the staff were helpful. Bathroom wasn't spacious but the room had a good view of the small local square. Was quietly impressed and would...

The Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments are perfectally located in the heart of Bayswater, only a 5min walk away from the tube station Bayswater and approx. 10mins from Paddington train station. Restaurants, shopping facilities and a couple of pubs are all in walking distance. The apartments are clean and well equiped. We had a quadruple room (one living room with a...

I have stayed in a number of hotels / apartments in the past but this is my first review which I felt compelled to write. We recently booked a family apartment and upon arrival at Grand Plaza were told by the attendant that we had been upgraded to a larger suit. Our joy was short-lived as after the hike up...

We were very disappointed with the accommodation. The room was very small and it did not feel clean at all. There was a terrible smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room. On the day of our checkout we had the cleaners knocking on our door twice 8.30 and 9.30am (despite a 11am checkout). Our room was located up two...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
