The Apartments are very nice and well appointed in a nice area. They are well located just around the corner from Bayswater and Queensway tube stations and a number of bus routes. There are plenty of restaurants nearby ranging from fast food to Lebanese and there are a number of supermarkets, including M&S, to get groceries. The kitchenette in our...

We stayed at the Grand Plaza Serviced Apts in May 2010 and were very satisfied with this hotel. Would definitely want to stay here again if I visit London again. The location is very convenient and in a beautiful quiet lane very close to Hyde Park. The quadraple room was HUGE.....and very clean and well maintained. The front desk staff...

Stayed at the Grand Plaza for 2 nights at the end of September with my partner. We chose the apartments mainly due to the location and because it had good reviews on here. We ended up booking 1 night through hotels4u and 1 night through the hotels own website which we thought may have been a problem with having to...

Nice-looking building, reasonably close to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. Also buses to Oxford Street. Kitchenette was adequetely equipped for making snacks and drinks. Bathroom was spacious. A very large bed, which I found comfortable and the kids slept on a double sofa bed which was fine. We didn't have a good night's sleep though - not the hotel's fault,...

I stayed with family in Sept 2010. We had a 2 room apartment, with the second bedroom also being the sitting room & kitchenette. The rooms were tidy but are only cleaned once every 3 days, which we found out after reading the compendium. The location is good, being close to public transport (both buses & underground) There is parking...

we were put in the basement and when we complained we were told in london it's normal. the staff did not seem to understand that being in a basement is not nice and we had to insist to convince them to give us attention. The hotel does not seem to be managed at the level you would expect from a...

I stayed in the Grand Plaza with my wife and two sons for 3 might in the second week of August. The room was spacious and clean, the kitchen well equipped and modern. The maintenance people were very helpful. Our toaster didn't work so we called reception and were delivered a new modern machine within 5 minutes. Breaktfast was excellent...

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Grand Plaza this August with my family consisting of two adults and four children aged 17,9,7 and 4. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Even with the sofa beds open there was still more than enough space for the six of us. The kitchen facilities were exactly what you...

Me and my girlfriend booked a Studio Apartment for a romantic night in as it was our anniversary. The hotel is ideally located close to the tube station and the streets around it are packed with restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Although we live in London the atmosphere in the area made us feel like we are tourists so that was...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
