We love borough market and the surrounding area. We often stay here for the convenience. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. We could have done with some decaffeinated coffee in the room. But there are plenty of coffee shops close by. We will return but will try a few other hotels in the area first.

Excellent value, excellent position close to tourist attractions and restaurants. Handy having direct access from hotel to Anchor pub, especially if it's wet and windy (as in our case) and you don't feel like venturing further afield.

I have never come across such a friendly and helpful group on staff. The Reception staff were spot on and when we required more tea/coffee for the room the cleaning staff could not have helped us more. The whole experience was spot on. Would like to re-visit in the summer as the location next to the River Thames makes it...

Fab location, fab staff, super comfy bed and would stay here again! I stayed here For the first time last week on a business trip as I was attending a seminar in the Local vicinity. Nando's and Wagamama are virtually opposite the hotel and two pubs within walking distance too.

Apart from a small issue of power being lost to the building and the surrounding area (beyond the staff's control) our stay was very good. The room was quiet and clean. The shower was hot and we had a reasonable night's sleep. It's in a very good location too for Borough Market, the South bank of the Thames and the...

Location is fantastic, right on the river and round the corner from the market. There are lovely bars nearly (Thameside being one) and lots of cafes etc. Simple to navigate and just over the bridge is the Sky Pod Bar which is worth a visit. The Clipper also stops near the hotel and takes you to Westminster, Tower Of London,...

We've just returned from a short break in London and couldn't fault this Premier Inn in Southwark. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was excellent, the room was spotless and yes we did have a great night's sleep despite being next to London Bridge rail bridge. The bed was amazing. We didn't have their breakfast because the hotel...

Good value for this excellent location. Comfortable bed, clean room with good shower and cleanliness very good. Very welcoming friendly and helpful staff. Would certainly return here. Breakfast options are good although we decided to eat in the nearby cafes (Pret etc). Hidden away just 20 metres away is a Globe cafe which serves fab lunches for very reasonable prices.

Room was as expected as with most Premier Inns - clean and consistent. Bed wasn't the usual lovely memory foam. Staff very friendly. However, the breakfast was not what we expect from Premier Inn at all. The hot food was not great (hard scrambled eggs, soggy hash browns and rock hard bubble & squeak) and the continental offerings were not...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
