I already visit this hotel for more than 10 years. I often travel to London to go to theatre and concerts, to meet friends, to go shopping, to visit a museum ... Mostly I only stay for a few nights because I prefer to be in London many times a year instead of one longer stay. The hotel is situated...

The hotel is cheap by London standards, and it was ok for the price. But don't expect to much. Rooms are very small, carpets in the communal areas very shabby, breakfast is basic.

Good value, and very close to transportation hub. About a minute from King's Cross. For all the rumors and stories about this part of town, the hotel is in a nice, quiet (but not scary) neighborhood. Room was on the top floor, about a gazillion stairs to climb. Shower pressure was hilarious (in retrospect mind you). Twenty minutes for a...

The carpets in the communal areas are grim. The skirting boards are damaged with most of the paint scratched. Looking up at the walls and ceilings gives an equally depressing feeling. I understand that some of the rooms have been decorated recently, but the family room that we used had not and was again depressing. The mattress springs could be...

We've stayed in Kings Cross before...it's a Super location. The MacDonald Hotel is really a B&B. The check-in was easy. We used the hotel's online website special as well as paying in cash (which saves 5%) for our family of four to stay in the Family Room. The room is right on the first floor and is in a great...

Considering this hotel is in London, it has a good quality vs. price ratio. The room was clean, and not too small. The location is very good, with 6 undergound lines in the immediate surrounding. Just one flaw: the room was quite noisy, not due to the surrounding (very quiet), but due to noise coming from other rooms (mainly the...

When we arrived the owner was friendly and laid back. We were worried to see how tattered the reception was but this did not continue into the rooms themselves which were clean and recently decorated. We stayed in an en suite double room which was an ok size the shower itself needs upgrading. Very convenient to london kings cross less...

I spent one night at this hotel in a single room with shared facilities. The hotel is in a convenient location as it is less than a 5 minute walk to Kings Cross and St Pancras rail stations. While this area has a bit of a dodgy reputation I have to say I didn't feel uncomfortable walking back to the...

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, helping my daughter to move to London to study for the semester. First 2 nights I stayed in room 202, ensuite unit, that was very clean, shower was great, the bed was OK, and it was very quiet even though the room was on the street side. There were some plumbing noises...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
