Pros: cheap (for London), quiet area, free internet and breakfast, beside a small beautiful square, decent pub food around the corner, friendly staff, room cleaned daily Cons: Definitely a budget hotel with poor workmanship throughout - all carpet worn with spots and rolling under your feet, paint and tile work done by amateur, no air-conditioning, bathroom (en-suite) was a modular...

I stayed at the George for a ten-day research trip. I had a very positive experience there. The breakfasts were lovely - wonderful tea, marmalade, eggs, beans, etc., the staff pleasant and helpful, and the location absolutely perfect -- so close to both Russell Square, St. Pancras, the University of London, etc., and right around the corner from a whole...

The service was very efficient, i booked quite late and the booking was dealt with very efficiently over the phone. The only room available was a single with shared bathroom which suited me as it was only for the 1 night. The room was ready just after the check in time stated and was compact but clean, the bathroom was...

After 4 nights in this hotel my boyfriend and I decided it would be our homebase on any future stays in London. We had a triple on the third floor (I believe), with a view out over the park across the street. The room was a great size for two people, and I could imagine it would fit three people...

This hotel is in a lovely, convenient location on a crescent in historic Bloomsbury. The staff was friendly, and the cooked breakfast was well well prepared. My room was a decent size and quiet for London with a pleasant view of Cartwright Gardens. Free wifi was a bonus. I had to share a bathroom which was OK because I never...

We stayed here for 2 nights as a couple in a triple room with ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was small, but like the room and the hotel very very clean. The hotel also had a very good odeur which is really nice. Breakfast was very good. Everything is frechly made. You just order what you would like to eat. Because...

From Kind's Cross Station, you can take train to Edinburgh. From Russel Square, you can take the metro line - Piccadilly Line to the downtown center...

I found the staff at the George to be very friendly and hard working. Sure there are somethings about the George that are less than perfect, but we're talking about a building that is 200 years old, built before they had even invented electricity or indoor plumbing. As a grade 2 listed building the owners are not allowed to alter...

This hotel is absolutely appalling. In years of travelling the globe I have never seen such a small room - it was basically a bed with a wardrobe at the foot. The floor of the room sloped to the right at a steep angle, and all the items in the room were old and worn. All electrical wires were run...

This guest arrived early and was given a key to the room before it was fully serviced to move his luggage in. The staff should have knocked on the door but were under the reasonable impression that the room was still empty as they had been working in it shortly before and it was still 2 hours before normal checkin....

Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
