It was a good thing that I decided to see for myself instead of believing the worst reviews of the property. I had very low expectations and Oxford Hotel easily exceeded them. It had all I expected of a decent budget hotel and more: I got a clean, no-frills room with good free Wifi, an en-suite bathroom, basic amenities, plus a fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities, not to mention the excellent location close to Earl's Court station. It's great for short trips when you only have a small bag rather than a large suitcase, as the rooms are fairly small, so travellers with large pieces of baggage will struggle a bit.
Oxford Hotel is par for the course for a budget hotel. I think the highly negative reviews are quite unfair, and that the guests who expected business hotel standards for their room should have been prepared to pay London prices for an actual business hotel.
N.B.: I didn't take breakfast at the hotel, nor do I watch TV, so I cannot comment on those. I stayed in a basement double room in the main building.

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for staying with us. We offer very good value for money in comparison with competitors, and are relatively cheaper than anyone else in the area. However, some guests expect a luxury 4-star hotel for the price of a no-frills 3-star budget hotel. We are schedule to become a 4 star from next year, then of course the prices will reflect that. Thank you again for your comments.

I did appreciate the staff, above all the lady who was on afternoon/evening shifts at the reception, Ibtissem, who was always very friendly and ready to help. The Hotel is overall clean and comfortable, offering a fair breakfast in the morning. The room was quite comfortable but really tiny, which made it very difficult to move around. The soap holder in the shower was totally rusty. We could not adjust the window in the room, as you open it...it dropped back.

If it was possible to give a negative star. It would have been a -4. An unpleasant experience. Sweet mouldy odeur. Hair and dirt in the sink. The breakfast was disgusting. No duvet, just a thin linen. The bed had obviously been used for other things than to sleep in. We had to buy "bedclothing", so that we didn't came in direct contact. You couldn't see through the window, because of dirt. And you couldn't close it. Never, ever, ever again

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that guests have different expectations. We are a no frills budget 3 star hotel located in amazing part of London and excellent value for money. When a guest is not satisfied during the stay we would have expected you to contact the management and we could assisted you with any issues. From our records it doesnt appear that you have registered a complaint with us.whilst in the hotel.

This place is awful! I got bitten to pieces and am still suffering with what I assume were bed bugs! Never take a room in the basement. It is like a prison cell with bars at the window. I couldn’t sleep worried about how I would escape if there was a fire. I wanted to leave but left it too late so suffered all night. Everything about it is really unbelievably shoddy. I felt very unsafe. Yes it is a budget hotel but no frills and dangerous are two different things!

I just left this hotel after I have been allocated in a room in the basement . Outside the building in another building just 2 next doors . The problem wasn’t just this.
Once arrived in the room, the light of the bathroom didn’t work. The room was very cold without any possibility to torn on the radiator. Smell of mild. I went to check my bed and it was disgusting (please see pics attached). Dirty with stains and hair. I went to call the reception with the phone of the hotel that was on the little desk, and I realised that the phone wasn’t connected because there were no cables. So I went outside the building and went back to the reception. They said they couldn't change the room because they were fully booked. I asked to replace at least my sheets. In the main time I had dinner out. Went back and the sheets were still the same. I was complaining about this and the lady at the reception ( very rude and unprofessional ) said I’m sorry this is not a 5 stars hotel. If you are not happy we can’t do anything because we are fully booked and now please I have to assist the client behind you I can’t talk to you about this problem for 2 hours . At that point I was fuming . Went back to my room collected all my things and went back to the reception saying that I was leaving . She didn’t say Anything .
Also at some point during the discussion , I wanted to speak with the hotel manager , she said that he is never there and she couldn’t give me a refund because only him can make decisions . Hotel so dirty and unorganised. If the manager is not avavilable , someone else should be able to assist the guests as priority . Not waiting for the manager for 3/4 days as she said that he goes there every 3/4 days.
Such a wast of time and money. I paid for this horrible dirty and smelly room £70. Never again . Please before book this hotel look at all the others that there are in the same road which are much better and cheaper!!!! Went to another hotel next to this and it’s very nice . Unbelievable they REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND . Been in that room less than 1 hour ! Ridiculous .
Really curious to know how the hotel manager will reply about all of this . A simple SORRY is not enough. The lady at the reception was so rude . Unbelievable.
