The Montana Hotel was a great find. I had been trawling through websites finding hotel after hotel at exorbitant prices but with poor reviews. My sister stayed in a hotel that wasn't quarter as good for four times the price! I had a quiet, pleasant room with all the requirements you would want- comfortable bed, good bathroom, fridge, etc, etc....

For the price and for South Kensington this was a good deal. I had a single room and was happy to find it wasn't a poke hole. Large table and space in the room. Shared bathroom - i.e. Shower and loo in same small room - was fine, tho not sure how many it was shared with. Nice entrance lobby...

I travel a lot of business and stay in 5 star hotels often. This is not 5 star but in London I am so often disappointed with hotels that claim the 5 star rating. If you are in London and want to be in Kensington they I would recommend. You won't get a Porter in uniform or marble reception area...

Collection of three Victorian townhouses turned into hotel. Excellent staff, extremely clean, rooms are reasonable in size(not as big as most north American rooms) Very well thought out and nutritious breakfast(Never changes, gets repetitive if one is there for a week). Walking distance to Hyde Park, Victoria and Albert museum, Natural History Museum. Subway stop is probably 200 yards away,...

The very good location is the great selling point and the reason for the value. Close to muesums, Notting Hill, Kensington, three Underground-lines and nice neighbourhoods. The hotel is OK, but at bit small, dark and somewhat dated. Very small lift, small reception area. Our room was large - a double and a single bed for two guests. Bathroom a...

I have been here once but I really liked . The only downside is the smell of carry at the entrance and mostly everywhere inside the hotel. The room is beautiful and the bathroom has a very comfy shower . The wifi is free and the staff is really helpful. I will stay in this hotel another time for sure.

We stayed at the Hotel Montana for 7 nights. Although the rooms were on the small size compared to North American hotels, they were very comfortable, clean and up to date. The staff were absolutely fantastic, helping you in any way they could and going above and beyond to make sure your stay at the Montana was pleasant and your...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
