Hotel La Place is not new, my room (single) was small and the bed oddly located (I don't know how the maids manage to make it up), but it was very clean and quiet. The staff is very helpful and friendly, ready to handle any request 24 hours a day if necessary. Breakfast (full English) is included with the price,...

Very small hotel, picked it as there was an awesome deal going for it with Kaligo. Check-in was odd as they wouldn't budge on showing passport for identification which as a UK resident I've never before seen in a London hotel. Public spaces were very narrow and could use a refurbishment. Lift was scary the first time but it got...

This is a small town house hotel that is very good value for the money. Don't compare this with a big expensive branded hotel - it's not that. The staff are all very friendly and it has all of the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Good location with excellent travel connections and local restaurants.

I gave them two stars ONLY for location, the free breakfast and the free wifi! The hotel is dirty and run down. The room was tiny with a double bed. There was dust on windows, a really old bedspread, a mattress that seemed to be overused, and my room was in the back of the hotel through a fire exit...

Stayed at Hotel La Place 5 days in April, 2016. I couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations and especially the service. An excellent full breakfast is part of the deal. A very good small hotel, 3 blocks from the Baker Street tube.

This is a small Hotel with rather depressing wooden decor but get beyond that and the rooms are sufficient and clean. The stay is certainly enhanced by the Night Porter, the breakfast staff particularly my favourite from Hull of all places. The breakfast is inclusive and cooked from fresh which certainly is a bonus. Overall, no glitz a trifle jaded...

booked this hotel at the last minute when watching England crash out of the Rugby World Cup! Great little hotel fabulously helpful staff and the breakfast was lovely. Near tube station and within easy walk to Kings Cross, great location, comfy beds, Air conditioning and really quiet. Highly recommended.

One of the most friendliest hotels I`ve been to in 65 years of travel. Fantastic day and night staff and extremely comfortable and quiet rooms, despite it`s closeness to Madame Tussauds, etc. My room was ideal for the single traveller. From every member of staff during my stay, there was always a broad smile and chat - I love the...

We spent 11 nights at this hotel in London. We had a "junior suite" which gave us a very large room for a London hotel. It was large enough for a king size bed, two night stands, a desk and chair, a large sofa, and a small refrigerator. The bath had recently been redone with new fixtures including a walk...

Stayed here during the recent Ashes Test Match at Lord's. I wanted something relatively inexpensive and within walking distance of the ground and Hotel La Place fit the bill nicely. The hotel is small but very comfortable and in a quite location. The rooms are small but more than adequate unless you spend all your time inside. The bathrooms are...

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
