The hotel is good - very nice service (people are friendly and service minded), bar was OK, the restaurant is OK, the breakfast was OK (strange that you have to pay extra for English breakfast) but the double room was very small (more specially the bathroom was extremely small). The airconditioning was or too hot or too cold and the air circulation was too intense (even with the setting on LOW). Price/quality of the bedroom was not in proportion.
London - always an expensive visit we tried to squeeze in a couple nights. For $365 BPS a night - we were looking to safe a few dollars... as this part of our trip was not on our budget. We came in with few expectations - they were not exceeded The hotel is nicely tucked away in a corner street - quiet (A plus) Very boutique - doorman was very nice and assisting. We left our bags as our room wasn't ready... and we went about our busy day. We returned to find our tiny room overwelmed by our bags (not uncommon) Bed 1-10 was a 5 Sheets were a 5 Bathroom towels (too few) were a 5 - too small for my 6'2'' frame. Bathroom was big enough for 1/2 of me at a time (TINY) We did not eat at the hotel - we were in town for only a couple nights with lots of appointments... I would stay here again for the rate but do not expect much luxury. Rooms were nicely cleaned Service was positive Experience was positive despite a very difficult reservation experience.…
I LOVE this hotel.....its cozy and lovely and the staff is INCREDIBLE ........the bar is cozy and the have a lovely menu. I love to sit downstairs and work during the day, it has a park near by and is in the BEST location!!!!
We stayed at St.James Hotel for 7 nights and enoyed our stay from beginning til end. The rooms are for London extremely spacious and quiet eventhough the hotel is located very central. You can walk to Buckingham Palace or Picadilly Circus within 10 minutes. We often walked or used the near tube or buses for tranportation as it is so well located. The stuff of the hotel made us feel at home and was extremely friendly and helpful during the wohle stay. Especially Andrei (Congierge) gave us a lot of tips where to go and what to visit or to eat and was always extremely helpful and friendly. Also the sihft leader from breakfast (unfortunately we forgot to ask about his name) from Sierra Leone made our stay unforgettable and served us with a good portion of humour. We can recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to London and will return definitely when coming back to London one day.…
This hotel is absolutely perfect-large enough to have a wonderful restaurant and bar, but small enough to give personalized service. For example, when we arrived from the US, we discovered that our reservation was incorrect. It was our fault, but they were not expecting us until the following week! Stefanie, the Assistant Front of House Mgr, literally saved our trip by correcting the error within minutes! Andrei in Reception gave us many wonderful tips for things to see and do in London and Marcus in the bar/breakfast area made us feel welcome each morning! Everyone we met at this hotel provided exceptional service. I can hardly wait to go back!
We were made to feel very welcome at the St. James from the moment we stepped out of the taxi and were greeted by the doorman. Then the front desk staff greeted us so warmly - they were very professional and kind. Since we were too early for our room, they stored out baggage and then showed us a great pub for lunch - the manager literally walked out of the hotel with us to show us a hidden shortcut. It was lovely to return from lunch to our beautiful room. Our stay was only three nights but we felt like we were leaving friends at the end. The St. James is elegant yet very warm and friendly. It is very convenient to Buckingham Palace and to the first stop on the Big Bus Tour. I truly can not wait to return to London and the St. James.
An unassuming hotel tucked away on a quiet street was my initial appeal to this location. However, I was blown away by the amazing attention paid to the guest experience, down to the smallest details. Rooms were attended to and restocked with fresh toiletries daily without request. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond my expectations to ensure my family had a wonderful stay. The concierge went so far as to track down the sellers of the fragrance that filled the halls for me to purchase because I loved it so much. The hotel is in close proximity to so many tourist gems and the staff was very kind in helping to navigate our stay. I rave about this hotel to anyone who asks - it truly elevated an already beautiful experience in London.
A very quiet and superbly staffed small luxury hotel located at the end of a street. Great access to all the gems in Mayfair. Andrei at the front door was most helpful and delightful making my stay flow with ease.
I really enjoyed my 3 night stay at the St. James Hotel. The location is in walking distance to the Palace, St. James Palace, the park, national gallery and great dining. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Food in the restaurant on the first floor was very good.
The best 3 things about this hotel is its location, the second is…. wait, there isn’t a second 😏. There is nothing majorly wrong with this hotel, it is all just small niggles, but with so very many, in combination, it is a disaster. The whole thing can be encompassed with two comments 1) total and utter lack of staff and 2) the hotel is very, very tired. If you must visit St James’s, wait until it has been refurbished (surely that must be well overdue) and hopefully by then, they would have solved there woeful staffing issues. Until then, use another hotel, and if you are spending £500 a night, who knows you may be lucky to order a cup of tea, because l do not exaggerate in this hotel that - is an impossibility!
