A few months ago, I stayed at a hotel across the road from this one so knew the area. We wanted somewhere central and reasonably comfortable. We were only staying one night so as long as it was clean had comfy beds and a shower we would be content. This hotel ticked all the boxes and more, the staff were...

Needing to be reasonably close to Euston Station (for travelling down to London) and to the tube system (subway, Metro, or what you will) for travelling around Central London, the Bedford turned out to be an ideal location for me. The hotel is part of the Imperial group of, I think, three hotels all around the Russell Square area. Reception...

Me and my family stayed 5 night at he beginning of July this year. It is a great location. Close to Russell Square, maybe a 10 minutes walk to the metro station and a good numbers of restaurants near by. We reserved this hotel in March and we were disappointed to have a room over looking the road, who is...

We have stayed at the Tavistock Hotel, another one in this group, many times and decided to try the slightly more expensive Bedford Hotel. The initial welcome at reception was good although there was a strong smell of fish in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable with a newly refurbished feel to it, lots of hot water and...

Part of Imperial Hotel Group, smaller than Imperial Hotel though and just 200 metros further. Close to Euston, about 10-15 min walk or 10 quid taxi. Good size, quite small for Hotel in central Lon and staff great. Food basic but great portion sizes, especially staters. I had a 3 fish starter, expected few small pieces of fish. I received...

This hotel is so convenient for shopping, theatre land, Covent Garden, British Museum, Oxford Street and so much more. All these facilities are within walking distance. Basic but very clean hotel, which was sufficient for my needs. Staff friendly and helpful, particularly the lady showing me to my table for breakfast. I have stayed in 2 other hotels within this...

We were at the Bedford for 4 nights. It is a good location with the British Museum just a couple of blocks away, subway stops a bit further but an easy walk. We even walked to the River one evening. Plenty of places to eat near by. I am glad we took a cab with our luggage from Victoria Station...

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were extremely helpful, especially when my friend mentioned she didn't like going in lifts, we were offered another room on first floor. Our room was spacious, clean with ironing board/iron/hairdryer etc. Breakfast was great with ample choice. Sitting out in the garden in the evening with a large glass of wine after a busy...

We stayed at the Bedford for a weekend in London. It's covenient for Euston, St. Pancras or King's Cross stations and just a short walk from the British Museum, Covent Garden and theatreland. Our double room was on the small side but very clean and well insulated from traffic noise. Breakfast was adequate though the smell of smoked haddock spread...

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and it was very much like all the other 3* hotels in the area. It was dated but otherwise very clean. We decided to stay this July because of it's location, we prefer the Russell Square area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, bringing a spare chair to the room so...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
