I stay here regularly when I visit London. The hotel has been renovated recently, giving the rooms a more modern feel and adding a comfortable bar area next to the restaurant overlooking the external patio gardens. Rooms are clean and comfortable with ironing facilities, a room safe, hairdryer, desk area and free wifi. The staff are helpful and friendly, and...

This is a lovely hotel.. I stayed 11 nights and was impressed by how clean it was, how nice the staff is and the high quality of the breakfast buffet. The buffet had many many choices of cold and hot food, was presented very nicely and the staff members were extremely nice. My room was great, on the garden side...

We spent in this hotel 4 days in January 2017, before we used to live in Tavistock Hotel nearby from the same Imperial Hotels chain. We like it: very clean, well designed, reasonably large rooms. The breakfast and cafeteria are especially nice, with a small backyard garden (in the summer). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location cannot...

room was small, outdated and cheaply furnished However it was clean, comfortable, and quiet the reception area and restaurant and courtyard are beautifully decorated for a 3* hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate and all the staff were very nice as it is cheap and in a good location I would return but hope that rooms will be refurbished...

I stayed for two nights when attending a conference in London. I think it would be difficult to find better priced accommodation in this part of London. It's probably not a place you want to choose if you plan on spending lots of time in the rooms, which are small, a little shabby, and have minimal amenities. Breakfast hot buffets...

My husband and I stayed with the Bedford Hotel London from the 14/12/2016 until 23/12/2016 whilst our daughter was in Hospital a few minutes away. Our room was very clean and tidy and had all the amenities required for our stay. We had booked on line so that money was saved. There was an excellent choice of breakfast with first...

I stayed with my husband and my 5 month old for a couple of nights. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating trying to find the best room to fit us with the baby. The reception and restaurant are nicely renovated. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms and the hallway need some renovations.

Ground floor reception and restaurant renovated. But corridors and rooms old fashioned, need urgent renewing. Small rooms even smaller bathrooms. Staff mostly unfriendly...English breakfast is ok. Location is near St. Pancras station, just 15 minutes walk.

Over the last five years, I've stayed (and reviewed) the Bedford a number of times. It is always my fallback hotel when other brands have rates that are prohibitive to my budget. The price never changes (97 GBP per night currently); the location is fabulous (Russell Square) and walkable to all central London attractions and theatre. Rooms are small but...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
