We stayed at this hotel for business. It was conveniently located for the tube and Westminster etc. the rooms were modern and very clean. complimentary toiletries and accessories were great. service in pub downstairs was very attentive, though breakfast was expensive in comparison to the normal evening menu. Would definitely stay here again when in London.

Absolutely the slowest, most inattentive service I have had in a long while. The restaurant is very poorly run and the wait staff do not appear to be trained well. The food is "ok", but the service should keep you away. Choose another place to eat if staying in the hotel.

Great location stayed 2 nights room was spotless with great facilities including free wifi. Took the breakfast option which was well worth it. Staff were really helpful and it is central for Westminster and close to the tube. Would use again.

Stayed for 2 nights with a 1.5 year old. Room size was adequate, especially for being so close to the city center. Rooms were clean and had all amenities we required. Comfortable beds as well. Location was excellent, 300m from Westminster Abbey, a short walk to the Royal Palace, St James Park, the mall, and trafalgar square. Not many restaurants... More

We spent 5 nights at the Sanctuary House and were very satisfied. First of all, the location is one of the best you can get in London: it's very central (maybe 100 meters from Westminster Abbey) and most of the West End is easy to reach on foot. Also, St. James's Park tube station is 80 meters far, Westminster 200... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, December 2012. The location was amazing, really close to St James' Park tube station and so getting around the city is easy. The room was wonderful, and it's really handy to have a traditional English pub below. The reception staff were also lovely and helpful.

Had happened upon the place through a combination of googling for central London pub/hotels and comparing reviews and this seemed a good bet. Unrivalled location coupled with a spotlessly clean, large bedroom with all the expected facilities and a really very good continental breakfast included made this a wonderful stay for us. It's central London, it is noisy - request... More

Everything was perfect! The hotel located very, very central, 2 minutes to tube station St. James Park, 5 minutes to Big Ben, Westminister Abby and the Themes River. It is close to the other sights, parks like Hyde Park & St. James Park. The neighborhood was perfect; the rooms were recently renovated, smart and clean the value for the money.... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
