Windermere is about a ten minute walk from the Victoria coach station, and 15 minutes from the Tube/train station. It was raining when we were leaving London, so we took a cab to Vic Station, that cost about £7. Keep in mind that there are currently no lifts or escalators down to the Tube (Jan '17) so you have to...

Found this hotel by chance when looking for a reasonably priced, good quality hotel, somewhere close the Victoria Apollo theatre, and definitely wasn't disappointed. With only 19 rooms, this hotel benefits from exceptional service from the people who work there. From the very warm welcome we received when we arrived, advice from the reception staff, to the cheery smile at...

I found the Windermere Hotel perfect for my needs. Victoria Station was a short walk away, but many of London's attractions are less than 30 minutes walk through scenic neighborhoods - Buckingham Palace, St.James Park, Hyde Park, Westminster Abbey, museums in So. Kensington, shopping around Sloan Square. The included cooked-to-order English breakfast was uniformly excellent and the free wifi loaded...

I stayed in the hotel for 2 seperated periods, in between which I have travelled to nearby countries. The hotels is old and a bit far from Victoria or any bus stops. BUT, BUT, BUT (need to say 3 times as it's important) 1. The breakfast is awesome, and it's included in the room price. 2. The rooms are old...

This is located in a very quiet neighborhood - residential. Streets are quite dark to walk at night. The nearest restaurant/pub we found was about a ten minute walk away. It is a short walk to the Victoria rail station - if you know which way to enter/exit the station. If taking the tube, make sure you look for the...

The hotel is located in a perfect spot near public transport, and in a nice area of London. A very charming hotel in a more traditional stile with wooden floors that crack under your feet. It immediately gets you into the right mood and invites you to explore the room. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over Christmas break. Short walk from Victoria tube and bus stations, so very good location. I had a small room with single bed. Friendly staff. Room was clean. Breakfast buffet (included in the price) was excellent with a good variety of food. Loved it. There are some restaurants near by. Highly recommended.

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
