We have stayed in the Cartref House many times over the years, it is the best location possible, just a five minute walk to Victoria station. The owners are as nice as can be, rooms are small, but clean and quiet. Good restaurants in the area. Because of the proximity to the station it is easy to get to the... More

We booked here based on Rick Steves reccomendation and were not disappointed. The location is terrific and the price was a great value. We had a family suite with bathroom (yes it was a small bathroom but this is Europe folks!!). The full English breakfast was good and included in price. Service from Derek and family was also very nice.... More

I stayed here for two separate nights in December 2011. The rooms were very comfortable, the hosts were very helpful. Great neighborhood! I am looking forward to a return trip.

Very friendly hosts. If you're unsure what you might do during the day, Derek will have suggestions for you and tips to get the most out of your stay. Excellent breakfasts. Convenient location to Victoria station (coach, train, underground). Room was comfortable.

I stayed here with my family last week and loved it. The hosts were very friendly, the house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. If you stay on the top floor (rooms 7-9), like we did, be prepared to hike up four flights of stairs to get to your room. The location is beautiful, safe, and convenient. It's about... More

We stayed Dec 19-23rd. Room 2. Room was spacious for three but easily could have four people. Bathroom is a "pod" as others have eluded. Likely it was installed in a previous closet. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. Location was SAFE. I was there with my two college daughters. We felt safe at all times. Walked early morning... More

Cartref House provides real charm, a warm welcome, comfortable bed, good shower, a delicious breakfast served with friendly and informative conversation. Derek is a wealth of information and runs a well kept B&B in a charming neighborhood, Belgravia, on a quiet street. Plenty of eateries nearby and Victoria station just a hop, skip and a jump away. Great London location.

We chose Cartref House because of Rick Steve's review. We were mainly disappointed that there was no place other than our room to sit and visit. Our room did not even have a chair. This hotel has a great location and is reasonably priced.

We stayed here for three nights. We selected it based on Rick Steve's recommendation. We loved the location, close to Victoria Station, but such a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was always good, especially the bacon. We enjoyed Derek's stories and appreciated all his help. The rooms worked perfectly for us. The showers are adequate. We would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed for four nights in October. It's a very nice place, the rooms are a bit on the small side, but if you're in London on vacation you won't want to spend much time there anyway. The rooms and common areas are all very clean and well maintained. The Cartref House is on a relatively quiet street a very short... More

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
