My husband and I recently stayed for 10 nights in January 2016. Pros: - Location was excellent. The Piccadilly line runs from Heathrow straight through to nearby tube stations. Nearby busses (note that there are many different bus stops) were less than 2 or 3 mins walk away and connected us to hyde park, marble arch, knightsbridge, oxford circus, camden...

Was very surprised with this hotel. Downstairs restaurant/bar looked very dated but the rest of the hotel was modern and the food was exceptional. Can't fault the location or the price paid. Will definitely be booking again when in the area.

I have stayed at this hotel several times - also when it was called the Regency and I love the location. South Kensington is an area with great restaurants and museums with easy access to the tube. It is a Doubletree Hotel now, which is a chain that we are familiar with and we enjoy the chain services - not...

This hotel is very convenient to the Tube, restaurants, and places of interest. It is modern, has a great breakfast, and a first-rate staff. The only glitch was in the check-out system's inability to accept a combination of cash + credit card.

The hotel recently became a Double Tree by Hilton, which we were not told about when we booked in November 2015. I had been worried that there would be lots of noise and paint fumes. I must say I was quite impressed. Works were being carried out, but late at night and my sleep was not disturbed. The staff were...

We stayed for 2 night on 23-24 January 2016. Great location, hotel was clean & the reception staff very friendly. But we actually very disappointed with our stay. The hotel room were extremely small. We chose the Double Tree due to its proximity to the Royal Albert Hall. In fact I'm delighted with my choice. The hotel is clean, tidy comfortable, and the staff (as has been said before) are attentive and polite. Our room overlooks the busy Queensgate road but who's cares about the odd police siren? I can recommend this hotel to...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
