Be warned, stayed one night and woke up the next day blotchy and itching all over. Now having to have everything worn dry cleaned / thrown out so as not to transfer home. Avoid room 7, not just for the fact you'll be bitten to death, but you get the added bonus of the kitchen staff making lots of noise... More

Firstly it is not 24 hour reception. If you arrive after midnight you have to knock on the door as your key , even if you happen to sneak it out, does not open the main front door. If you can wake somebody up they will let you in at their discretion. My female travel companion arrived back around 2am... More

Its funny as i've seen so many reviews on here bashing this hotel and I really don't know why?!?! It was in a perfect location being only 5-10 min walk to Earls Court and 5 mins to the tube, the breakfast was spot on each morning and the staff friendly. We arrived early on the day of checking in (10.45am)... More

Hotel Oliver is in quite location on a main road within walking distance to The Natural History Museum and to Earls Court Tube, buses, also to restaurants and food stores. We liked the breakfast service, coffee and tea faciltites available for free in the tea room 24hr. Also liked the family room. We would definately use again.

We asked the hotel receptionist to call a taxi at 4:30 in the morning to take my mother to the airport at a fixed price. A man appeared in a car and instead of taking my mother to the airport gave her a very long drive around London, apparently lost ...and left my mother at another site near the airport... More

Ended up here for 1 night after my original reservation was cancelled by accident and this was the closest hotel to my location the booking agent could find. Hotel is close to tube. Plenty of shops, pubs and cafes nearby which is good because the less time you spend in this hotel the better. I was in a single room... More

We booked this hotel because it was reasonably central and close to a tube station so we could spend the evening in central London. Parking was a bit of an issue and we ended up a 15 minute walk away. The photos on here unfortunately make it look better than it is. Not being a negative person I am struggling... More

This hotel is disgusting the worst by far!!!! The rooms are extremely tiny its shocking I only stayed here as all the hotels in London were fully booked on the 9th July as London was very busy in that period. The room was £75 per night and if u wanted 2 people in the room you had to pay an... More

Stayed at this hotel just for one night in London before i shifted to the Holiday Inn. This is a small hotel with just around 50 rooms. London being very expensive, i booked this hotel because the tariff was 110 pounds a night. However, the rooms were very small for my comfort. The bathroom was dirty once i checked in... More

We were almost put off staying here because of the bad reviews however the staff were polite and helpful, the room whilst on the small side was spotless and even though we were at the front of the hotel we weren't bothered by traffic noise. Breakfast was a bonus! Conveniently located and at a good price we would stay here... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
