My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate his birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was very nice. Our room was quite small but there was enough space and there was a lovely shower. Breakfasts were great and the public bar area was nice to sit in and relax. It is a shame that...

I have just come home from a 4 night stay in the Kensington Close Hotel. Great location, only 2 minutes from the nearest tube station. Very quiet hotel and very relaxing. We stayed in an executive club room which was lovely, nice decor, good-sized bathroom, complimentary wifi and complimentary access to the pool. The room was spotlessly clean, my compliments...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in March 2016. The location is excellent. Central London, two minutes walk to the Tube and lots of choices to eat nearby. The room I had was tiny. No space at either side of the bed. The room had a strange musty smell & was very old and tired. Lots of marks...

Just a 2 minute walk from High Street Kensington and the Tube station, this is a great hotel if you don't want to be awoken by the noise of central London in the middle of the night because this hotel is set back off the main street so I found it very quiet at all times. The downstairs of the...

The hotel was lovely and staff very helpful. The room was very small but value for the rate we paid. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. The £8 charge for using the pool, steam room and jacuzzi was excessive. Although it is a charge for the day it...

Stayed overnight in the week on business, hotel was excellent in every way, however to give an honest review I must say initially the first room I was given was although an executive room, below par decor wise and size for what I'd personally expect, but to the receptions credit, the moment I told them I was unhappy with the...

Good central location, handy to the tube. However rooms very like premier inn--basic but small. Was disappointed with the wifi connection and also the tv---no pay as you go movies either. I decided not to have breakfast and was glad i didn't as plenty of places nearby for breakfast.

I booked what appeared to be a last minute special and got exactly what I paid for. First surprise was that wifi is paid for at almost 10 pounds a day per device. The wifi rarely works... My room was very small, but that is common in London at that price. The interior is tired, and needs an upgrade. Furniture...

This hotel is very close to the tube, and right near Kensington palace. The hotel rooms are very small, but it was clean and the staff was super helpful with directions, getting a taxis, etc. NO FREE WIFI-which is odd in this day, but overall a great stay!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
