The hostel was very clean and orderly. All though it is in a grim looking neighbourhood, I felt very secury and safe in the hostel. The underground station is almost across the road and the bus stop with many city buses and connection is also just around the corner. One could walk in 10 minutes to the Tower of London...

Anthony and Wimal and the other young staffers were so nice and helpful. The location in the East End is very convenient to all forms of mass transport - Aldgate East station is very close, as well as Whitechapel for the Overground. The breakfast is excellent. I was there during a quiet time and basically had the wc/shower room to...

I've stayed at the Wynfrid House for several weeks while I was looking for a room to stay in during my time in England. ++ The staff was very welcoming, caring and successful in trying to make everyone's stay a good experience. There always was someone to talk to if I had issues or questions of any kind and they...

I had a first floor room for about a week when I visited London on late November 2015. Anthony and the staff were very friendly and very helpful! I am very glad I chose this location for my stay in England. You're steps from Aldgate East Tube station which is serviced by three tube lines and you can get to...

It was great, I was fully welcomed by the hoste and supported by the arrival to London. The bathroom in the hallway and the sink in the room looked new and were clean. Breakfast was lovely and a bunch of choice, if you need something else you just could ask for. Tesco is close to the next corner, where you...

Place is awesome with full marks in cleanliness , services and friendly staff. Anthony who is in-charge out there is a wonderful person and very helpful. The place is centrally located with all the major attractions at a nominal distance. I will definitely stay there whenever I am there again in London.

A group of (mature!) ladies stayed in a twin rooms, not on-suite. Clean and perfect location, 10 mins from London Tower and 2 mins from underground or a good bus route but we walked everywhere. Toilets and showers were more than adequate, waited a few minutes one morning for the shower and no toilet roll late one night and the...

Very good location, safety and quiet are the main features of this nice B&B, which offers the best price-performance ratio in the central-east area of London. Absolutely recommended to everyone: family, school trips, students or long period worker like me. And last but not least, the staff lead by the good  manager Anthony is really friendly and helpful. Stayed March 2 - Mar 7 2015 in twin beds room with en suite toilet/shower. Quiet (when we were there), secure, clean and the morning breakfast was great - variety, healthy and fuel for the day! The staff is really friendly and helpful - thank you Anthony and all! The price was very reasonable which, all together, this hotel was...

Located in a cosmopolitan area, is a place with really good value for money and a higher than standard quality. Really clean (bedroom with confortable maitress, shared bathroom in each corridor). You can book it easily by email and you will pay locally, that's a good solution. Mr. Anthony, the owner, is really gentle and helpful if you need information...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.

“The park nearby that you can cut through to get to the hostel is not a great place at night - many homeless and mentally ill people, but lovely during the day. The street the hostel is on is eerily quiet in the evenings.”
