Hotel was former county hall close to everything. Transportation of your choice was steps away ---train,tube,bus,boat,bike. You could also walk to many attractions. Concierge lounge was excellent as was the morning breakfast that was included. Rooms are large, clean and well decorated. Loved the history of the building and close proximity to major sites.

Some arrival issues, we paid in advance for a Thames View, they tried to put us in a "garden view" room. After an 11 hour flight and train into London, it was exhausting to have to argue with them before they "found" an available room which originally they said they didn't have and asked us to unpack and stay in...

This hotel is in the center of everything! We walked everywhere from here, and if you'd rather ride, the tube is just a few blocks, tour buses are right outside the hotel, or my personal favorite, take the boat out front! Fantastic location! The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are larger than average, and a tub you could do...

We stayed in this hotel in August on the first stop of our European vacation. We had two rooms, one with two queen beds and the other a king. The rooms were huge, even by American standards and the views fantastic! The location was fantastic and we walked everywhere in the 3 days we were in London. We stayed here...

Stayed for few nights over half term with my mum, she upgraded our room so we had executive guest privileges including Big Ben view, executive lounge membership, canapés and drinks. Room was lovely, everything you could want and need. (maybe invest in stronger hairdryer) . Breakfast was perfect, the scrambled eggs are best hotel eggs I've ever had. Staff very...

We chose this hotel for a 3 night break in London because of the convenient location and the trusted Marriott name. The location is fantastic and was perfect for our needs but we were a little disappointed with the aspects of the hotel. Firstly, it is looking very worn in places with threadbare carpet and tired bathrooms, the whole place...

First of all, the location is great. You are on the south side of the Thames, right near the Palace of Westminster (most folks will say it is the center of London, but it isn't even in the square mile). A number of rooms face the Elizabeth Tower (which most people mistakenly call Big Ben). It is in the midst...

Checked in on Thursday 22 October. Easy walk from Westminster Station on the Tube and easy commute from Heathrow. We were greeted like kings. We were tired and, despite our room not being promised until 2pm, it was ready at 10am. The staff was courteous, cheerful, helpful. and made numerous recommendations. The spa, workout area and pool were first class....

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
