I stayed here on a mixed business/vacation trip. I noticed it on previous trips but had never stayed there. First the negatives. This hotel has the charm of a government post office. The room could have been in any US city airport. If you are looking for a lodging that is somewhat a destination, this is not your place. Now...

Hello 2Jax, I read your review and found it quite interesting. I am pleased that our location proved a winner for you but I see that you were less enamoured by the charm of our hotel. We are working on various aspects of the hotel to create an overall feeling of homeliness but with a distinct sense of being somewhere...

We stayed here as a family of 5 with teenagers for a long weekend. As many other clients have said this hotel really is ideally placed both for the underground but also for visiting various must-see places in London on foot (Madame Tussaud's, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street shops..all within reasonable walking distance). We had two double rooms and both were...

Having searched for a central hotel in London, we booked the Holiday Inn as it was a good deal compared with all the others of a similar standard. We were delighted to arrive and find it across the road from The Ritz, very close to the open top bus station, close to the shops and resturaunts and even had a...

Dear ukrealdeal, Very kind of you to trouble yourself by leaving a review. I am most pleased that you found us to your liking. Please note that where an inclusive breakfast rate has not been purchased, the Front Desk staff can usually provide you with a voucher that discounts the breakfast prices and children eat Free. We stayed here recently and were really impressed by the convenient location of this hotel. The room, however, was disappointing - dingy, dull, old-fashioned & smelt of cigar smoke - it's in need of a serious revamp. Unless you get a room for a seriously discounted price, find somewhere else - there's plenty of choice.

I chose this place because I had an awesome rate and I wanted to check out the area (my limited knowledge comes from the reputation of the high end hotels here and its place on the Monopoly board). The HI Mayfair is only a mid-range chain, so it wouldn't be fair to compare it to those other hotels. The check-in...

Dear klew97, We are proud to say that our rates are amongst the most competitive in Mayfair, therefore I imagine that the receptionist was only highlighting that by making reference to yours. I trust that no offence was intended. In spite of this please accept my apology on behalf of our staff as you were uncomfortable with the comment. Regards...

Good value for the location, if you can get it for under $150 usd on Priceline. The bed is really bad. Cleaner than Thistle and Millenium hotels. If you are on a budget it is fine. I would not pay direct hotel rates for this place. The location is fantastic tho.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
