We stayed at the Grange and loved it for its perfect position to everything that we want to be near during our stay in London. It was just right for us near everything we wanted. Close to a village for breakfast and a quick coffee, close to Gloucester tube station and Kensington Gardens for a relaxing walk. We both loved...

I was in London for four days in March on vacation and the Grange Strathmore was a great choice. The best part of the hotel was its location - close to Gloucester Road tube station, which mean only a 25 minute ride on the tube to and from Heathrow. There is also a good grocery store nearby as well as...

What a lovely, clean friendly hotel will defiantly stay again. We stayed here to watch the bodyguard at the Adelphi theater, The staff here are most friendly and helpful. The hotel it's self is wonderful.

I have to visit London once or twice a week for work and discovered the Grange Strathmore as an incredibly friendly, convenient, clean, well appointed hotel. Situated close to Gloucester Road tube, it's ideal to travel easily to all Central London locations. Lots of nice places to eat nearby and some other convenient shops if needed. The staff are always...

The hotel was in a beautiful area of London. The communal areas of the hotel were very grand and very well presented. The bedroom was very small but had everything you need (except plump pillows!) and the bathroom was tiny but again- all facilities were there. The main issue was that the stunning and huge sash windows throughout the hotel...

This is my 2nd time to London and I must say Grange Strathmore is way above the other hotel I previously stayed. The check-in staff is friendly and efficient, and the concierge is always helpful. My room on the third floor isn't big, as expected for the price and location, but it is more than enough to provide me a...

Lovely hotel steeped in history! Check-in can sometimes be slow and the only lift is often unreliable. The breakfast menu is extensive but I would prefer this buffet style. I don't understand why you have to sign a form at breakfast when you have already had it confirmed at check in that breakfast is included. Good range of complimentary extras.

The location is great - 5 min walk from Gloucester Road station. The hotel is located on Queen's gate garden str. which is perfect because it's very quiet. Service is excellent - the staff was very polite -they asked if we were doing any sightseeing and offered to book tickets for us. Breaksfast was great. Rooms were cosy and clean...

My wife and I stayed there for 1 night as we were going to see the Circle du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall. As others have written it's in a lovely part of London, close to museums, shopping, parks and nice places to eat (especially South Kensington). Also the French Consulate. All within walking distance. It's in a historic...

The Grange Strathmore isn't the best hotel in the world and neither does it pretend to be, however located in one of the most exclusive postcodes in Britain, with an added dose of history, being formerly owned by the 14th Earl of Strathmore, Her Majesty's grandfather. it does make it rather unique. The rooms which face onto the gardens provide...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
