Just stayed for one night in the Jonathan Swift room - can't fault the hotel. It is quite expensive, but it is lovely. Friendly and helpful staff, a lovely intimate ambience and a beautiful hotel cat! Our room was delightful - more like staying in a loved family home than a hotel. Very clean, lovely breakfast delivered to our room...

If you're tired of beige bedrooms, then I recommend Hazlitt's. This boutique hotel offers real charm in the fantastic location of Central Soho. Our bedroom was a plushly upholstered delight, containing a superbly comfortable four-poster bed and an ornate en-suite with roll-top bath. Double-glazed windows ensured that the sound of nearby nightlife was kept out of earshot. Free, unlimited wifi...

We stayed a Hazlitt's after finding it a year ago during a visit to Ronnie Scott's. As a birthday treat for me, my husband and I booked into Hazlitt's Duke of Monmouth Suite. The suite itself was spectacular, with every comfort, you could want. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, however the manager, Fergal, was exceptional. There was an...

Booked early and got a great rate on this 1718 inn. Room was very charming. Great library and meeting room to bring back work colleagues or have a meeting in. Great location, tube, bike rental all right there. Only complain is they turned off the air con when you left the room so it was a little stuffy when you...

A charming B&B/boutique hotel complete with wonky stairs and sloping floors, right in the centre of Soho. My room - Sir Marmaduke Wyvill - was a snug 'club double' with the most fabulous and comfortable four poster bed. Importantly, it also had a bath and shower and had an internal view (i.e. not overlooking the bustle of Frith Street). Loved...

We have now stayed at Hazlitt's on three different occasions and every time we absolutely love it. It sounds silly to say it is our home in London, but it feels that way. They are always so pleased to see us and do everything to make our stay comfortable - tea for two in bed, or sent down to the...

We stayed for a night in the Mary Barker room, which was perfectly formed, snug and very private. Hazlitt's is an old building, lumpy floors and winding corridors add to its wonderful charm and the staff are attentive and warm, a great night's stay, highly recommended!

I spent two nights here earlier this month, and was very happy with the hotel in almost every way. The location is very central (so beware that rooms at the front can be noisier as you are in the middle of Soho), the rooms were a decent size and the decor was individual and appropriate. I am used to living...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
