This lovely, traditional hotel is ideally located for the shops and west end attractions with easy access to underground and overground stations. Our room was quite small for a quality hotel but comfortably furnished and quiet. The rooms do not provide complimentary tea/coffee making facilities or mini bar so you are reliant on room service. Also, the advertised free wifi was...

We stayed for one night only and we were highly impressed with the personal service and attention to detail at Durrants. The hotel exudes elegance - something sadly lacking in many hotels today. The intimate bar, lounge areas and restaurant all exceeded our expectations. All the staff were attentive and courteous - nothing was too much trouble. Some reviews have...

This is a charming hotel in Marlebone and you always get a warm welcome on arrival. Paddington station is a short taxi away making it easy to access Heathrow airport as well as being well located for the city. The rooms do vary considerably with some of them being very small (although also cheaper). There are a couple of small...

Durrants is a beautiful hotel that feels like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street which is a mere stones-throw away. Situated in the heart of trendy Marylebone, Durrants is surrounded by boutiques and cafes making it the perfect city retreat. Staying in a twin room, we were originally given a refurbished room but after voicing concern...

The location is great and room was clean and spacious. Bathroom door creaked very loudly. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No bathrobes. Loved the small living rooms, ideal for a quiet read. The housekeeping staff had really cute uniforms and every so often a whole stream of them filed past - like being on the Sound of Music set....

We spent one week in this Hotel. We had two rooms as we were four -father, mother and two adult sons. We liked the Hotel for its tradional elegant looking. We think it has been an accient palace or an old very good mansion. The rooms are good, and clean. The bathrooms are very small. The Hotel is very calm and...

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and were greeted by friendly smiles and very efficient staff. The whole feel of this hotel is calm and cozy and we had THE most lovely time here. The room was elegant and clean and very welcoming, absolutely charming. We didn't use the bar, as it was quite small and quiet, but there are plenty...

Durrants has been a home away from home since leaving the UK fifteen years ago BUT like so many other reviewers I get fed up when allocated one of the tiny tiny rooms. On this trip my single room was again a tiny room at the back overlooking the mews, it felt like a store room and what stopped me...

I have a soft spot for this hotel an stay regularly if the price is right. It's very traditional looking when you walk in but some of the rooms have been refurbished to a lovely fresh boutique feel. Restaurant and bar are ok, but you're surrounded by busy London so I've only bothered testing then once. Great staff.

Durrants is fantastically located near the buzzy area of Marylebone It's eccentricity and willingness to please overcomes some of the lesser aspects of a stay here. Older rooms that can be cramped. Noisey road outside. However free wifi, friendly staff, some lovely architectural features and most of all the location make it a good place to stay.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
