We went here for dinner on a Sunday night. We had a starter of Scallops and Smoked salmon. Both were delicious and looked great. Wonderful presentation. Main course of baked salmon and the sea bass. Again both were good. The sea bass was a little over cooked. Both were served on very interesting plates. We had side orders of Chip...

The hotel itself is only slightly above average. The location is excellent and the rooms out the back are very quiet (looking over roofs). My single room was exactly that, but perfectly adequate. Bedding a bit spare, but aircon/heating easy to control and responsive. Staff helpful and friendly. A 'no surprises' hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights last weekend. Very friendly helpful reception staff. We were initially given a room on the ground floor which I was not happy with. My husband went back to an incredibly helpful man on reception who gave us the choice of 2 other rooms. As these were not the deluxe rooms we had booked we were...

If you want to be near the sights and shops of London this hotel is perfectly placed, a brief walk from Green Park tube station and the Ritz hotel, with Bond Street just around the corner. However it is a little tired in areas, the corridors are very beige and a little fusty, the room we had was pokey, with...

We stayed at the Hilton last Friday and had a very comfortable stay. We were in London attending a function and the hotel was very well located. The hotel is a listed ex-residential property and therefore quite quirky and not the normal bland Hilton modern-style City hotel - we liked it exactly because of that. Service was warm and welcoming...

We stayed here for 2 nights with friends. It's one of those places that puts shutters on the bar at closing time and is very aggressive about moving you away. The heating in the room didn't work. Could not get it above 18. We booked ages ago and got 2 rooms just outside the lift. Living off its reputation and...

The rooms were very underwhelming for what I saw. The sink was not clean, the rooms was a bit cramped. The decor looked a bit worn and it just had a very old feel used feel to it. The iron was poor and the tv was not very good quailty. I would have expected more for the price paid

Was advised to give room 102 a miss as its noisy and was given 146. Tiny single room, smallest possible bathroom only usable by removing all detachable features and fixtures e,g, bin, spare toilet roll, toiletries, etc. A truly horrible room. If you have bags you also need ot know that you will go up 8 sets of steps and...

The big plus point of this hotel is the location. Not just because it's easy walking to all the main sights/shops/theatres but also because it backs onto Shepherd's Market (great for a wander, try Caffe In for breakfast). The big downside is the cost of the extras - £15 a day for wi-fi, £3.95 for water. Excellent reception team -...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
