I am currently laid in bed about to check out after spending 3 days at the Blakes. As a business customer my budget won't allow me to have a larger room, however; the room I was in was small yes, however, there is nothing more you would need. It well proportioned considering and tastefully decorated. The bed is extremely comfortable,...

Really really enjoyed Blakes, what a gem in gorgeous leafy South Kensington. Service was fab - from the welcome to the restaurant to the happening bar. Really intimate and discreet yet lively and fun. Rooms are gorgeous and individually designed, if you're into art and design this is the place for you! Had breakfast and dinner and both meals were...

Nothing wrong with this hotel except facilities qualify for three and not five stars; minuscule reception painted mostly in dark colours, tiny, tiny room (it was even presented as an upgrade...!), no floor space to fold out a normally sized 75 cm suitcase, adequately sized bathroom with no heating source whatsoever, not even a heated towel rack, let alone a...

Dear Universal Tracker, Thank you for taking time to send your review, we really do learn from our guests feedback, and welcome it. I am sorry that we let you down at Blakes during your stay. This hotel gets a lot of things right but when it goes wrong, it's bad. We chose it for its slightly out of the way location. It's a charming area which is quiet and not too far from the metro and museums. Our rooms did not look like the pictures online which was a disappointment but they were still interesting....

Just wrapped up a 5 night stay at Blakes. Can't say enough about the friendly and professional staff. They pre-arranged car hire for a day trip, helped us celebrate two special birthdays, and arranged transfer to Heathrow. Enjoyed the healthy options at the restaurant and excellent cocktails at the bar. The rooms are on the smaller side but have everything...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
