Impromptu trip to London wanted to focus on the City and this was super value. Checking in swift but we were given a room on the 8th floor and there was a throbbing noise which I would never have slept through evidently there is a plant on the roof. Back to reception and switched to a room known to be...

Stayed there for a conference with spouse a few nights. Great VFM. Right in the middle of the financial district, safe and surrounded by shops open very early and very late. Helpful staff. Good size room and insulation for London. Very close for walking to the London Bridge. Cleaning could have been a bit better. Equipped with microwave and small...

This hotel is just essential no-nonsense place for busy travelers: it is seated within easy access to main attractions (St Paul, London Bridge); self-service check-in kiosk and coffee machines are served by friendly staff, no chit-chat (good, when you are busy) and just "go about your business" attitude. If you know where you going and can plan your trip on...

We got a pretty good deal here on Expedia and were looking for a location somewhat close to the Liverpool Street train station. This fit the bill and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was pretty basic but nice and large. Nothing overly elegant but definitely functional. The amenities for the whole hotel were a nice bonus...

We booked this hotel as we had a meal booked and this was close by. The hotel has a self service check in although there was osmeone to help who was very friendly. Check in was quick and efficient and within 5 minutes we were all done ready to go up to our room. There is a small lounge area...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
