Stayed one night in a single room which was at the top of some stairs in what appeared to be an attic room. Check in was confusing as I had to confirm that breakfast was included. The room had a window with a view blocked by a parapet wall going a very limited view. The facilities were adequate and the...

I came here for a week with my family. The hotel definitely looks much better than in the photos on the website. The room I had was very spacious and had a lovely garden view. The hotel is in a very good location to walk into the centre such as Covent Garden, Leicester Square etc and also many buses go...

Whilst The Academy is a nice enough hotel with friendly, helpful staff, their afternoon tea leaves a lot to be desired. There was a poor selection of too few finger sandwiches. The hard bread suggested they were probably prepared too early. It was not a good start. Scones were fine with a good selection of jams to choose from. A...

The hotel Academy positives - Close to Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Mini bar, iron etc in room. Negatives - Building very outdated, with tired carpets and furniture. Walls were paper thin and we could hear upstairs banging as they were walking, and next doors music. Air conditioning was very noisy, however it did...

Afternoon tea was at the Academy Town House Hotel was really bad! 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 Sandwiches were poor....6 fingers, the little cakes looked like they'd been left out all day as did the sandwiches but the scones were good and warm and the tea was hot. The room we had tea in was downstairs stark and lifeless. No atmosphere at all. My...

Went with friends for afternoon tea, it was a little room in the basement with plenty of character and style. Food was well presented and tasty and a good choice of teas. Although I liked it I felt that the service could have been better as my friend doesn't eat cheese and was brought the wrong sandwiches and we were...

Stayed in the Virginia woolf suite - suite is maybe a misnomer, it's just a bigger room. The king size bed was good. The full size pullout couch my teenagers shared was just as uncomfortable as one would imagine it would be. The pullout was fine for the kids but adults would probably not be thrilled with it. Staff was...

A co-worker and I stayed at The Academy from March 24 to April 1, 2017. Here's what's great about The Academy: 1. It's very close to four tube stations (Goodge St is 5 minutes walk. Euston Square, Tottenham Court, and Russell Square are about 10 minutes). 2. There's a bus stop about 100 yards from the hotel that will take...

We had travelled frequently to London but had stayed in serviced apartments but this trip for just my Husband and I, we found this convenient and value for money Hotel. Located near Oxford Street and Covent Garden, a real treat for us as we had always stayed in that area. Clean, efficient and flexible staff made it home like. With...

This hotel certainly worked for us - great value for money, a spacious room, an unsuite bathroom with roll top bath, it was quiet and the location was ideal. Close to Tottenham Court Road, the British museum, plenty of places to eat and drink it suited our needs perfectly.
