Like most of us these days, I've stayed in hotels all over the world. A bed is a bed, a breakfast is a breakfast, a bathroom is a bathroom. Sure the quality may differ with the number of stars, but what really makes for a memorable stay is the personal interactions with the staff. The Royal Horseguards is a once...

Room 635 was classed as an Executive room. Shower smelt of stagnant water. The bed whilst large was extremely hard and very uncomfortable leading to back ache for over 36 hours. Worst of all the view from our window was of a fire escape and window ledge covered in bird lime - see attached photos.

Here are the pro's: I had a beautiful view of the London Eye on the 8th floor. Service was impeccable (thank you James) - my initial hotel room had no view (which I paid for) and that was rectified. Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
