I have stayed at the Royal Horseguards during a previous trip, and I will stay every time I travel to London, either for business or pleasure. The breakfast meal is excellent, with no issues at all. Silvia was the hostess for most of my stay, and she was very accommodating and friendly. The people that checked me in did an...

Our family of three enjoy traveling in November because of the festive ambience throughout any European city. The Royal Horseguards Hotel was no different. After crossing the street from the Embankment Station, we arrived in the midst of holiday decorations and class as we entered the hotel lobby. We were greeted with smiles and a wonderful staff. No matter which...

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Royal Horseguards and still can’t quite believe it was real. I booked a river view room as a birthday surprise for my husband and was thrilled when we were upgraded to an executive river view instead. The view was truly amazing, so much so that we slept with the curtains open so...

This hotel is well situated in a safe area overlooking the Thames, just across from an underground stop. This proved to be the ideal spot for my husband and me, as we got reacquainted with London's excellent underground transport system. We took the tube to the hotel from Heathrow, only transferring once. (Tip: there are 2 flights of stairs to...

There is very little to complain about at this hotel, especially when given a free upgrade overlooking the Thames and London Eye! This was our second stay at The Royal Horseguards; it definitely lived up to the fabulous stay we had the first time. The staff are incredibly helpful and the rooms are beautiful. We were upgraded and the complementary mini bar is such a good touch. Perfect location for the West End, the tube and London Eye. Worth every penny.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
