I've stayed at Avni for only one night, I was traveling alone and the only room available through booking.com was a triple room. It had plenty of space for me, it was a nice room. The bathroom was minuscule but very clean. The blanket had some stains, and that was a bad point, but all the rest was alright and...

Mid ranged priced hotel, well located, in a beautiful building in the heart of Kensington, yet in a very quiet and peaceful street. The rooms are small but clean and functional. Breakfast is included and is served in a small noisy room. The staff is helpful and sympathetic. I recommend the hotel for a short and low budget stay.

I have used the Avni for around 5 years now since it was referbished, I always feel it is a mid ranged priced hotel and a safe bet for staying in the City........However it is now time to move on, the hotel is now dated with many things going wrong. This time I had no hot water in the shower,...

We spent one night at the Avni Kensington this week. I trawled the Internet to find a reasonably priced hotel near the Albert Hall. Not an easy task! The location is absolutely great, lovely building in a calm wide avenue away from the heavy traffic. The staff were very welcoming. The room was small and functional , very clean, as...

We stayed for 5 nights and it seems the hotel was fully booked and short staffed. Rooms were adequate w. shower, wifi, kettle for coffee, tea. Front desk staff very polite. Location good, just minutes from tube station. Most days we went out after breakfast and came back at 3-4 p.m. The room was never done. We ended asking for...

Stuff is really really good. I have booked room with 3 people for 7 days. At last day, we where in full day trip to Stonehange and returned back to hotel at 8:30 clock , my booking was suddenly finished, as I checked, I'm mistaked one day in booking. There was no more room left for that night. My room...

I am appalled to say i booked this hotel for a hen weekend, we had 7 people staying on the Friday & Saturday night & 11 more guests coming down for the Saturday night. We checked in on the Friday & although the rooms were ok (basic) nearly almost everyone had 2 or 3 things wrong with it. Ranging from...

This hotel was excellent, we were allowed to check in early due to our bus arriving early. This was no hassle! The reception is open 24 hours as you have to leave your key at reception (this made us worry alot less about losing the key). We booked a superior double having read other reviews saying it is worth paying...

Booked this 'hotel' through agoda.com having been misled by that website into thinking that it was an apartment. After waiting 10 minutes at reception whilst the only member of staff dealt with a complaint I opened the room to find it was a tiny, double that was threadbare and tired. Immediately went to reception to ask for a bigger room...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
