I stayed here almost 3 weeks ago for 2 nights, and that was more than enough for me. When checking in, the man at the reception was rude and impatient, which was a very bad start (although I have to say the other members of staff were much nicer). There was a balcony, which i was pleasantly surprised by, until...

After reading some of the reviews here about small rooms (which is a norm. at small London Hotels!) We where first very impressed by the size of our room. We didn't want to be far from Buckingham Palace and had a budget of £100+/-. It had all the necessary appointments, was a nicely done Victorian Conversation. The staff very attentive....

This hotel had all the basics you need. Beds, shower, dresser and a closet in the room, even though it was a bit small. The hotel had a computer to use for internet (very very slow!), and even had a breakfast in the morning. It was located in a decent part of town right near the Science Museum and Natural...

You are staying in a very nice residential neighborhood adjacent to wonderful Chelsea London. However, a very short walk and you are in the bustle of either the South Kensington or Gloucester Road tube stations, meaning you are excellently placed to transportation, shopping, dining, etc. I have stayed here for leisure many times and recommended it to others who have...

The first room we were assigned overlooked a roof and was very poky - quite unlike the photographs on the website. We refused it and were shown a marginally bigger one in the front overlooking the garden. But the room was very poorly equipped - not even glasses in the bathroom. It was tight and the bathroom was old and...

My family booked this hotel because the location seemed great and the photos on the website looked pleasant and with a continental breakfast the price was reasonable for the area. £105 for a double room. When I walked into our double room I was horrified. It smelt dirty. The bathroom was tiny and had a tiny light above the sink....

I found this hotel quite hard to find, it just looks like a big house, fairly close to tube. Check in was fast, I had booked a single room and was given a twin room, room was big but the bathroom wasnt the cleanest without going into to much detail the toilet had a surprise for me! You have to leave...

Nothing special but for the price was quite acceptable. The room floor could be a bit cleaner. Well located within 10 minutes from the tube and museums. Very friendly staff. Would go back to this hotel.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
