We were a family of four and stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at no1 the mansions. The location was excellent being near the tube, grocery stores and pubs. It was much bigger than we thought. It was also very quiet on the top floor. The lifts were older with a grill and a door which if not closed stopped... More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the 5th floor (our travel agent advised us 2 days before we arrived that there were issues with our original accomodation at Think Earls Court - glad for the change in the end). We were happy with the space we had including the decent sized lounge room. Positives: easy check-in... More

Near Earl's Court station. Quiet but lots of stairs (our apartment was on the top floor). Couldn't beat the location though for ease of getting around London, close to supermarkets, shops, Boris bikes, etc. Quiet room, WiFi OK.

I cannot explain what a relief it was coming off three X 7 hour flights from Australia to The Mansions Apartments; it was like arriving home. It was my first trip to the United Kingdom and when I return in the near future I plan to return to The Mansions. The location on Earls Court Road was fantastic; the 74... More

Clean unit with WiFi in great location near markets, restaurants and Underground. Advertised as unit for 4 adults: Two bath, two bedrooms with queen and/or king beds. However 2nd bedroom was tiny, cramping 2 lumpy short twin beds, one small dresser which blocked entrance door when drawer was accessed. Shoes, books, purse, coats, luggage had to be stored in the... I stayed here twice with extended family in June – July, the English “summer” and would definitely use these apartments again especially if travelling with a large group. We really enjoyed them. For the benefit of fellow Australians, my American cousins and others from the new world, please be aware these are what were once called “mansion apartments” in the... More

The biggest advantage of this flat is its close location to the underground, shopping and restaurants. We were 2 adult couples travelling together. We had a 2 bedroom flat (#13) and were definitely a little disapponted in its size and general condition. The bedrooms were very small. One had a double bed and the other 2 twin beds. Not the best... We arrived at The Mansions after travelling in Europe for a month. We booked a Studio apartment, No. 3 on the 5th floor, which was fine (very small bathroom though). As the apartment was at the front, on Earls Court Road, after 1 night we found the traffic noise & sirens through the night made for disrupted sleep. At our... More

Finding our way easily on the underground to The Mansions, we stayed for 3 nights in a Studio apartment, which was perfect for a couple. The bed is foldaway and presented no problem for two 60 year olds, opening up the space as a living room during the day. The kitchen/laundry was clean, functional and much appreciated after a week's... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
