Washington Mayfair has a great location for travelers, a short walk from Green Park Station and only 45mins from Kings Cross (if you dare walk it!). I have stayed in a fair amount of London hotels in my lifetime (I loved 'The Cavendish', Mayfair and 'The Cranley Hotel', Kensington) but the Washington failed to match up to the same quality....

A very short walk from Green Park and Green Park Underground, this hotel is nestled in Mayfair almost opposite Shepherd Market with it's restaurants and pubs. Expect to see Ferraris and Bentleys circling round. Expect a cross section of London's cosmopolitan life with Italian through to middle east eateries - even a Polish Mexican restaurant (L'Autre) and Brtish pubs too...

very poor hotel, for the price it is frankly a ripoff. The decor is dated, it is so noisy in the mornings not helped by the cleaning staff entering our room at 8.45am...thanks for that!. During booking asked for a high floor room, the hotel has eight floors.....we got number one, sums up the whole stay, one big fat disappointment....

We stayed there for a week for our honey moon. It is steps away from st James and Hyde Park, Picadilly and Green Park metro station, and many other attractions. There is Cafe Nero in front of it for breakfast and a Tesco convenience store. Our room had king bed, It was cleaned well daily, towels changed even that we...

Booked at the Washington for a surprise for my partners birthday. Was greeted by two staff members, one was rude the other one was pleasant. Was asked straightway to pay £100 in case any damage was done to the room, at this point not even got the bags in the room. Went to the room no drinks were included and...

Fabulous hotel, from check in to check out. Reception and all staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Room was well equipped and very comfortable. Hotel was well located near Park Green Tube station and only 15 minutes walk to Piccadilly. Would also recommend the breakfast good selection on offer lots of choice for all appetites.

I was slightly dubious about staying here after reading some reviews, however we had a great stay. We were in London to celebrate 2 40th birthdays, when we mentioned this on checking in we were upgraded to superior rooms which were lovely. Upon returning from an afternoon exploring both rooms had some cake and a birthday card left in, a...

I must admit to being a little nervous booking into this hotel as some of the previous reviews had said it was tired. Maybe the foyer was a little worse for wear but I had no complaints about the room itself. A comfortable, airy, good sized room considering you're in the heart of Mayfair. A newly refurbished bathroom with a...

Okay, so this isn't a full review as we didn't get beyond the lobby! My fiancé booked us in for one night as we were going to London to celebrate my 40th birthday with a meal at Gymkhana. He chose this hotel as it was less than 10 minutes walk to the restaurant. When we arrived to check in the...

We booked the hotel for an over night stay for our wedding anniversary. The location is fabulous for getting around but on entering the reception area I knew we'd made a mistake. Mis-matched old leather sofas and thread bare faded rugs in a basic lobby. We were given our room key and entered the lift. The lift had filthy stained...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
