Beautiful relaxing hotel. Fantastic staff who go the extra mile. We got a beautiful room overlooking the park. Equipped with all of the necessities for an overnight stay. Excellent location. Cannot recommend it too highly. Will definitely revisit.

We are a family of three, with a son aged 12, that stayed for ten days in one of the apartments (No. 17, ask for it, it's high up the stairs and quiet.) In many ways, the Athenaeum was just what we hoped (and paid pretty dearly) for: on the edge of Green Park, five minutes from the tube, smack...

Thank you for your review. We apologise for the delay at check-in and the error in the number of towels you were left in your room - this has been brought to the attention of the teams responsible. We're glad to hear that you otherwise enjoyed your stay and do hope that we'll be welcoming you and your family back...

This was my second stay at the Athenaeum. I was there for two weeks on business (and for a week the previous year). It is a beautiful hotel that makes me feel at home. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and kind - they even said hello to me when they saw me walking in the park (and they were...

If you want a very personal experience try the Atheneum. I have stayed a couple of times with consistently outstanding results. Rooms can be selected to include park views and it is a short walk to Buckingham palace. Staff are very helpful and remember your name. Nice touch!

I chose the Athenaeum based on it's reputation as one of the best hotels in London to spend the night after my wedding day. I mentioned this when I booked. I obviously wasn't expecting fanfare as we walked in, but I was expecting more than what we got. A bog standard room (IMO not much better than a Travelodge), a...

My second stay at the Athenaeum, and what a fantastic experience. You are welcomed by name, the door man remembers your name and salutes you, the staff are friendly and professional, and the food superb. A fantastic experience. The high tea and whisky bar just add to the fine level this establishment has achieved and maintains. A delightful experience.

Stayed at the weekend for a birthday. One of the best if not the best hotels we've stayed in. The service is outstanding of every member of staff. Loved our room with a view over Green park. We went to the spa and the bar. This hotel is an excellent location. Few min walk from tube station. Would highly recommend

We stayed here last week while visiting London. The doorman (Jim) was the best. He remembered all of our names and we felt very welcome each time we saw him. The rooms were nice but the shower was my favorite. Incredible water pressure! I've stayed at a lot of hotels in the UK and I have to say this was...

Any hotel that provides a (free) bottle of fresh milk in the mini-bar and hosts a complimentary weekly cocktail party for guests (on Wednesday evenings) gets my vote - that this is provided in a central London hotel impresses me even more. I loved The Athenaeum, from its uber-friendly staff to the home-from-home atmosphere. I was travelling solo and felt...

This review is really about the restaurant but we are hoping to stay later in the year. Central London has a huge choice of restaurants, but if you are looking for somewhere that is stylish, relaxed, and reasonably priced, the restaurant at the Athenaeum Hotel is a must. From the outside in Piccadilly, the Athenaeum like all the buildings facing...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
