Weekend of show and shopping, decided to try the Stafford hotel. We were not disappointed. Had a double room which was of medium size and very comfortable bed. All usual room facilities worked and great great coffee maker . Evening drinks were a bit cramped in the bar , which was full of people , mainly Americans Breakfast was really...

I work in the West End so knew and loved the American Bar of the hotel, but arranged for my family to stay to see a show I was in and was blown away by the quality of the Stafford's rooms, the attention to detail and comfort and by staff who couldn't have been more helpful and charming - it...

From the moment you arrive at the Stafford you are treated as a most-welcomed guest. The staff is friendly but always professional, with the best concierge team (Brett, Peter and Fernando) in London. Every guest is made to feel valued, The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location cannot be topped. I cannot recommend highly enough.

The hotel was a historical residence of the Lyttelton & Spencer family going back to the 17th Century. Near the location are residences, office space and embassies; it has a neighborhood feel and is very quiet. It is a great location near Buckingham Palace and St James Palace, Piccadilly Street shops such as Fortnum & Mason and many restaurants. For...

Tucked away off St James St it feels quiet and private with a beautiful facade. Stayed in the main building and the room was very nice - bathroom was modern and spacious with a separate bath and shower (the shower was excellent). The staff and level of service were excellent! Room was missing the in-room dining menu. The American Bar...

This small hotel has beautiful rooms, personal service and a great English breakfast included in the room fare. It is located near the tube and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff make you feel it is your home away from home. It's expensive but worth the splurge. .

The title says it all. it must be one of the quietest hotels in London - bliss! Small but perfectly formed, the hotel is an excellent place to stay for both business and pleasure. Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Stafford London is a leading five star hotel in London and defines all that is quintessentially British. Located in the historical neighbourhood of St James's, it is set in a discreet and prestigious location beside the Royal Green Park. Opened as a hotel in 1912 and rich in history since the 1700s, it offers luxurious rooms and dining with an award winning, personalised guest service. The famous American Bar with floor to ceiling memorabilia and 380-year-old wine cellars are a sight to behold. Make sure to ask for a tour of the cellars and the in-house museum; the wine cellars doubled as a bomb shelter during WWII. ... more   less
