I've been to this hotel a few times and always had a great experience. This time i was upgraded FOC upon arrival and was given an early check in so i could make my slot on the Radio in a silent room. The rooms have all the amenities needed and more, even down to offering ear plugs etc. My room overlooked St Pancreas with great views, but was silent even although busy London was just outside the window. I adore the easy relaxed area down stairs where you can work, relax, have food or drinks, have a buisness meeting or just meet friends. A very well thought out hotel giving a great experience. Have just booked to go back.
I just found my new favourite hotel in London!! Thanks to The Standard.. I’m back in love with London. The Standard has such a cool vibe, but what makes this hotel very special is the people who work here. We stayed here for 2 nights for my husband birthday. The hotel is across the road from Kings Cross station, so very easy to find. From the moment we checked in they made us feel like we were special guest. Stefanie the duty manager had very kindly arrange a free room upgrade for my husband’s birthday. Gabrielle and George at the front desk were very friendly and kind throughout our stay. My husband lost his glasses and Gabrielle very kindly tried to help us find them. She even reached out to me after my stay to say she had checked with lost property but there was nigh sign of the glasses. Our room had the most fantastic view. This hotels on a very busy road but amazingly there is no sound of the street in the room – it was very quiet. The rooms are not very big but the window wrapped around the room which made it feel bigger than it was. We had drinks in Decimo - what a treat - absolutely gorgeous restaurant and bar. Didier and Chris looked after us… such cool guys and super friendly. We’ve been back to Decimo a few times and Didier and Chris keep us coming back. They always make us feel so welcome. The Standard gets a 5 Star from me. Ultimately the Standard is a hip and cool hotel but what makes it Standard, STANDOUT are the people who work here. They make you feel like you are royalty and it’s because of this I’ve been back most weeks for dinner & drinks. Didier and Chris in Decimo, Gabrielle and George at the front desk and lovely Jacob in the Library bar. I really love this place!…
I had a wonderful time at The Standard Hotel! From the moment I arrived, I felt the warm and inviting atmosphere of the hotel. The bar on the top floor is truly a gem, offering stunning views of London and St Pancras Station while you enjoy a drink or two. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to the helpful and friendly staff, especially James who was just fantastic. He made my stay so much more enjoyable with his kindness and professionalism. I would highly recommend The Standard Hotel to anyone looking for a fun and comfortable stay in the heart of London. You won't be disappointed!
I was looking forward to staying at the Standard London with family. A proper treat. We had two rooms - Cosy Core and a Double, both nicely decorated and clean. But there were a number of basic things that detracted from the experience and that I was surprised about given the price point: - We arrived in one of the rooms to find someone else's bags - Served a glass of red wine with lipstick on from a previous guest, not great at anytime but unforgivable when you're charging that amount for it - No orientation to explain where kids were welcome and which areas were grown ups only - Isla drinks options were limited, ended up ordering drinks from Double Standard next door - After booking I kept seeing adverts for 25% off deals (cheaper rates than I got) - Reception were really pushing paid upgrades, felt very salesy - Plug sockets only on one side of the bed in Cosy Core - Room lights were a pain, overly designed and complicated to switch on and off Positively, the breakfast was good and all the staff were friendly. It's also in a great location for Kings Cross and St Pancras. So all in all it was good, but not great, and there are better hotels in London for the money.…
From check in to check out, we were 100% looked after. We stayed at the Standard for my birthday and everyone there made it very special, a bottle of bubbles in our room on our arrival and more complimentary bubbles when friends joined us for birthday drinks. Service in the library lounge was attentive and friendly. Our room was stylish, comfortable and had everything we needed. Love the hotel and it's people and can't wait to return.
The room we stayed at in the Standard was really amazing with a wonderful balcony with an outdoor bath and great views over London. The bed was very comfortable and there was a large TV and plenty of in room storage space. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower and separate toilet (the bath is outside on the large balcony - which is a great touch). There was a very well equipped bar in the room and tea and coffee making facilities, although there was only a small amount of milk provided, barely enough for one or two teas or coffees. Dinner and breakfast are both served in the same location on the ground floor. This dining room is really well laid out and the service was very good. However, there is no breakfast buffet provided. Instead you can select from a limited range of breakfast options which, although delicious, felt like a bit of a let down compared to the hotel itself, especially as it was all additional to the cost of the booking, with even coffees being charged by the cup. Improve the breakfast and this would be a great hotel as the room was excellent and the service good.…
While the rooftop views are spectacular and the room was immaculate, the primary characteristic elevating the Standard is the people that work to create and cultivate the Guest experience. There’s a compassion, sincerity and spontaneity to The Standard that is unlike any hotel I’ve experienced or heard of. If I were to compare it to a place it would have to be Lamu Island, Kenya; there’s a palpable warmth contained within the Personnel. Pro tip: when you get to reception ask Buffi to tell you a joke. (You will thank me later) Here is a list People that made the experience special. Door Rafa - un caballero con integridad y inteligencia. Reception Christina & Valentina - very kind and patient. Buffi - a Crown Jewel disguised as a human being George & Princess - very Zen; they seem to bring a sense of calmness with them. Security/Bar Didier - you will know it’s him; les vêtements et l’énergie Matteo - the go-to barman downstairs. Room Cleaning Christy - very good at her job (sorry about the mess!) The Design, Aesthetic and Acoustic choices create an atmosphere that feels Spa-like. As you can imagine I’ll be back next time London’s on the itinerary.…
It’s simple. There are three words to describe the experience of The Standard in London : Cool … Fun … and Personal. The design and the architecture is cool … in their signature “ funky modern “ style of the Standard hotels around the world. And it’s fun. The restaurants and the bars cleverly combine ambience with quality. The crowd is diverse and interesting. , and the food is good enough for the restaurant to be a hot venue in its own right. And … this is important… the approach is personal. Standard staff are friendly without being “ fussy “. They make you feel special. And who doesn’t want to feel “ special “ The wonderful team of Buffi, Princess and Christiana at the front desk made me feel welcome .. ftom the moment I arrived. Love this place. It’s definitely my new London home.…
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend whilst in London for a wedding. The hotel was close to the venue. From checking in, the welcome from the staff was very warm and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. James the Front of House Manager has a great customer service ethos. The hotel is modern and vibrant. James informed us of room upgrade options available and showed us the rooms available. Whilst our original room was very nice and comfortable, it was compact, so if you are staying for more than one night, would recommend you consider the upgrade. Our upgraded room was very spacious and well equipped. However it lacked hooked to hang used towels so would suggest the hotel considers this. The Library Bar in the hotel was very relaxing. Ama ( Amar) who worked there was very friendly and professional and again made us feel very welcome. Overall, a very nice hotel in a great location in London. We’ll definitely stay here again.…
I love this hotel! It’s literally the coolest hotel in London. The front of house staff are super friendly. I messed up my booking and they took care of it. The rooms are SO impressive. The attention to detail is incredible, even down to the best crisps I’ve ever had in my life! My only criticism is the over the top door staff. I like to go in and out and having 5 massive blokes all approach you at once to ensure you’re staying at the hotel was a bit much. Still, 5 massive stars. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
