This is a review of the food, I have never stayed here but as I couldn't find a listing on tripadvisor under restaurants here it is! I have eaten here on a few occasions, sometimes in the bar and sometimes upstairs for more formal occasions., including Christmas dinner. The main attraction is the value for money. Portion sizes and quality...

I work in London regularly and a colleague recommended joining the Civil Service Club and using it as a base within a ten minute stroll of the office. Decided to book in for a two night stay with my husband for a pleasure trip. We could only book a twin room, at £140 per night. This was fine and the...

I've eaten here many times but not for a year. The lunch was very good. I had soufflé as a starter and an excellent feather blade of beef for my main course. What always improves any meal is good company and I was exceptionally lucky. The argentine Malbec supported the beef perfectly. Fruit salad and coffee made a meal into...

Location of this hotel is great for sight seeing and theatre land etc. Breakfast included in the price is great, cooked to order and as much as you like. The only downside is the the rooms are very dated. Beds, bedding, carpets and bathrooms are very tired and need replacing.

We were guests of members at a family celebratory meal they were hosting at the Civil Service Club so I cannot say anything about its hotel facilities but, oh dear, the food service. Although our hosts had to draw up a restricted menu for us to choose from and our food choices had to be sent in a few days...

Thankyou for your comments. The party concerned has been contacted and the matter resolved. We do not earn any commission from taxi firms, where we are located it is far quicker to hail a cab rather than wait for a private car.

Firstly let me say the location is excellent. First impressions at reception were fair enough if not as slick as most of the hotels I have stayed in. Up to my room... Firstly it was the route to the fire escape, which was not mentioned at reception. That is to get to the fire escape anyone on the floor had to...

Thankyou for your review. We are a Members Club and not a hotel. The building is an old Firestation and does have it's quirks! We were very busy with our Burns Night dinner the evening you stayed, it was a shame you didn't try the bar food it is excellent. We are rolling out a refurbishment program with the third...

Thankyou for your review. We are pleased that you enjoy the food both in the dining room and the bar. We do special members nights in the dining room once a month which provide even greater value for money, keep an eye on our facebook page for details.

One night stay this week. Can't fault the location, just 3/4 minutes walk from Trafalgar Sq. I understand some floors have started refurbishment, but mine on the 4th hadn't. Rooms a little outdated but perfectly adequate, although my curtains wouldn't fully close. A little noisy, but that's to be expected in central London. Food in the bar is hearty and...

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
