Slightly disappointed by the stay. The room was cold. The toiletries not replaced. The hotel had asked if an event was being celebrated and I’d told them it was my friends birthday. They acknowledged this but nothing was done about it. Breakfast was included but only continental. This was not specified on the booking. I’d probably have booked elsewhere had I known this. Let down by simple little things. To top it off they added a discretionary service card to my credit card without even telling me. Furious is not the word!
Good friends kindly treated us to a night here for my wife’s birthday. We’ve stayed a number of times previously and really enjoyed it. It seems to have new owners? If your idea of a fun weekend involves a glass of beer or wine, a cocktail or gin and tonic? Or like me you look forward to a full English the morning after the night before DONT COME! There is no booze or pig parts in this hotel. Bacon , sausages and alcohol is off the menu.
Well located property within walking distance to London bridge station, Tower bridge and to many bus stops. Ample free space (the square) in front of the property. Good front office and housekeeping with well groomed staff. The only negative was perhaps the small lift. Will recommend this property, even though slightly costlier
the rooms were clean and pretty big, it was near a sainsbury and near a lot of landmarks! food was really good! lots of options. the staff were really helpful! everything we needed was provided! would come again! 10/10
The room was very well laid out, tastefully furnished and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and polite and the continental breakfast was very nice and a good choice of items. However as there was no window to open the air conditioning was on all night and I have certainly been in rooms with units that were much quieter. It did wake my wife and I up on a couple of occasions.
Myself and a friend stayed for two nights in ‘Club’ room 615 (twin beds) in December 2022. Our hotel deal included breakfast, one afternoon tea, one-way boat tour and late checkout (1pm). Pros: -We arrived late-morning, but were allowed to leave our suitcases with staff. -Pleasant and helpful check-in staff. -Lobby - upholstered seating, large screen TV, childrens area. Rent a power bank. Toilets. Dogs welcome. Newspapers (Metro, Financial Times) available. -‘b2 at home’ - breakfast (7-10:30am weekdays, 7:30-11am weekends) - buffet self-service, continental (juices, coffee machine, cereals, breads, yoghurts, pastries, fresh fruit). Toaster. Located next to Lobby with a view over Bermondsey Square. -Two lifts to all floors. -Room 615 twin bed room. Small open hanging area with hangars, 1 bathrobe, iron & ironing board, high shelf. Corner desk with mirror, hairdryer, tissues, mirror, upholstered chair, upholstered poof. En suite bathroom with shower with large shower head, toilet, sink, towels, shaver socket, mirror, lotions. -Top floor rooms have a balcony. -Free WiFi throughout hotel (no logon required). Cons: -Room - adjoining door to adjacent room. -Room - no safe. -Room - limited information about hotel facilities. -Room - lack of storage. -One lift out of order during our whole visit. Lift shared with service staff. Notes: -‘Sainsbury’s Local’ mini-supermarket (sells alcohol) across from hotel entrance. -‘Kino bermondsey’ cinema & cafe-bar across from hotel entrance. -Takeaway food can be delivered to the hotel Reception, eg Just Eat, Deliveroo. -London Bridge Tube (Transport for London) and Railway (Network Rail) stations to/from hotel is a 15 minute walk.…
Quiet location with friendly staff and a sainsbury’s local just across the square. We had a view of the London eye and other famous landmarks from our 5th floor room. Comfortable beds, fab hot shower (once I’d worked out how to control it) and nice extras eg the toothbrush set - just the thing when you’re travelling with a forgetful teenager. We paid for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint - lots of choice and I can highly recommend the vegetarian hot breakfast.
This hotel seems to be a hidden gem. The staff were great, the quality of the rooms was great & (guess what) the food was great too. We had a package that included a complimentary afternoon tea and full breakfast. We were also received an early check in, late check out & luggage storage…all for less than the price of a Travelodge.
The rooms are a nice size, the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious but the showers flood the bathroom so you have to use towels to avoid flooding the room. Perhaps they should consider an improvement at this level? Apart from that, helpful and welcoming staff and a hotel ideally located less than 15 minutes walk from Tower Bridge. Several bus lines nearby to reach the underground or the city center. You will have an excellent stay here.
We stayed at this hotel in December, staff great room lovely, breakfast was great too with plenty of choice hotel very clean But the one thing that let's it down is the taxi service the hotel uses, if I'd of been a woman on my own I'd of either not got in or been very scared, we asked reception to order a taxi , pre ordered she told them where it needed to go ,the taxi arrived arrived just a normal car no markings on it I asked if it was our taxi ,he replied yes get in my husband asked if he could use his card, no xash only ! After been in two black cabs I found this odd , but worse the taxi driver didn't have a clue where he was going going three different ways he asked my husband twice for the name then asked for his phone to show him we were literally going over tower bridge a five minute journey that took 20 we were then charged a lot for the journey I don't think for one minute this is a reputable taxi firm we spoke to a black cab driver who told us it takes a long time to be a cab driver you have to know where your going to be one please be very careful if you ask them for a taxi I felt quite scared, it's a shame this happened because it was other wise a lovely stay .…
