Nestled in a tranquil residential area of London, The Bermondsey Square Hotel is celebrated for its proximity to iconic landmarks like Tower Bridge. Guests have called out the cleanliness of its modern rooms and bathrooms, though some feel the decor could use an update. While the service is often described as friendly and attentive, there are occasional remarks about staff needing to be more responsive.
The hotel's atmosphere and amenities receive mixed reviews, with the welcoming environment praised by some, but others believe improvements are necessary for breakfast options and air conditioning. Despite differing opinions on value and additional charges, many find the hotel suitable for short visits.

So I chose this hotel because of their open air hot tub on the top floor - the Lucy in the sky with diamonds suite. What a pick!!! We arrived to such friendly staff, check in was quick and efficient, the suite was on the 7th floor. On arrival to the suite we were greeted with a swan made out of towels and rose petals all over the bed, table and sinks :) also a lovely card and a Toblerone. Hot tub was very very hot when we first got in so we found the hose and added some cold water! This was then perfect. We have our own hot tub so I’m accustomed to doing these things myself! The view from the tub is just phenomenal out to London giving clear views of the London eye. The decking outside has seen better days and definitely needs replacing but other than that - lovely.
Bed sooooo comfy and shower head huge and powerful. We asked for extra pillows and this was no bother they were brought up to our room. We were supposed to
Have breakfast in bed as part of the package but due to Covid this was a grab and go option, we were given a sheet of options for breakfast where you could collect this on the morning. Room so lovely, lovely decor and layout. Towels were plentiful, there are tea and coffee making facilities in the suite, an ironing board and iron, a mini fridge which is stocked and dressing gowns and slippers. You also get a pack of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel etc. I can’t recommend this suite enough, absolutely beautiful, really made our day special. I would highly recommend and will definitely return! Thank you! :) Mr & Mrs Bangs.

Great experience at The Bermondsey Square Hotel. Rooms are nice and clean with extra amnesties that you wont usually find in other hotels . The breakfast was complete and rich with extra choices as well as the quality of food was high. The Location near London bridge was very convenient since my work was 20min by tube.

We stayed here as a couple for 2 nights , our room was spacial and had everything we needed including an iron, hairdryer toiletries and a fridge . From start to finish the staff and service was great . Breakfast was amazing and great variety for continental and you could upgrade to any of the hot dishes for an extra £5 I’ll be staying here again

We did a last minute overnight trip to London for our anniversary. The Bermondsey Hotel was ideally located, the room was adequate although take water as they only give you one bottle per room. The staff were very friendly ... and it’s pooch friendly so will definitely be returning with our fur babies

I obviously didn’t check the details carefully.. This place doesn’t have any form of bar (although they are happy to allow you to bring alcoholic drinks in?) and breakfast was continental. Presumably they allow you to upgrade to a cooked English breakfast but it’s Halal meat only, nota problem per se but wasn’t aware. We swerved the continental and went to Shad Thames.
My issue is that the hotel looks as if it was last renovated in the 70s although I’m not sure it was even built then! We paid £170 a night but the price increased significantly in the weeks/days before our stay. I’m not sure how they justify the price in any case but particularly with construction work on the exterior. Sorry to say we won’t stay again and the only sign of friendliness sadly was when checking out so am somewhat surprised by the reviews
Great location though with Pizarro, Murano’s etc in Bermondsey Street and you can walk to Shad Thames and Tower Bridge or down to Rotherhithe etc along the Thames Path

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for us, I am sorry that your stay wasn't a positive experience. As our building owner is from the middle east they wanted to create a place where it is easier for people who follow either a halal lifestyle or a lifestyle similar ( No alcohol or pork etc) to comfortably stay, now we don't restrict guests bringing in their own alcohol and products containing pork ( i.e. gelatine) as it is up to their volition of the guests, we just don't sell or use those products. I can understand how that may discourage some people but we see it as a different way of doing things. With our pricing it can go up and down with business need and occupancy so as it does this the price varies from day to day. All the other issues I will pass all the rest of your feedback back to the relevant departments and we'll use it to further improve ourselves. Kindest Regards Liam - Guest Services Manager

Hotel Bermondsey square.
About 15 Minutes walk from London Bridge Rail station. A 20/25 minutes walk to Bermondsey underground.
The area around the hotel is very nice & some really good coffee shops/bakery’s , restaurants. A nice area to stay in.
The hotel is undergoing an outside facelift as we were there at the weekend & left early Monday it didn’t bother us. It has scaffolding up and the
square has building materials etc around it. Mid March 2022.
Inside reception and breakfast area are decorated lovely a really nice & comfortable. Reception staff were friendly welcoming, We were able to check in early and our room was ready. This helped as we were off to the 02 and would return very late.
Room a twin, spacious. It has a large desk almost as you enter. Fridge water provided , tea coffee etc. Hairdryer was great & not attached to a particular socket.
Bathroom roomy and had shower only which I prefer was efficient. Ironing board and iron.
If the rooms undergo a revamp at some point really could have a smaller desk & even add a sofa bed or z beds for family’s as there was enough room.
Buffet breakfast was really good. Choices of cereal, pastries, breads, Cold meats & cheese selection. If you wanted anything cooked however you had to go off the main menu and pay full price. My daughter just wanted scrambled eggs & we could have made the toast. So maybe small supplement up grades would be an option.
We left early on the Monday & used the express check out.
At the train station we realised we had left a hat. Immediately I contacted the hotel & they said they would look. Later in day I contacted them again and I arranged postage. We are so grateful that reception staff helped package the item ready for collection. This was a sentimental item.
Thank you for a great stay & we will recommend your hotel & hope to return next year.

What a lovely hotel and Bermondsey is a fab area with lots of boohoo eateries and bars. Great spot for visiting Central London as its about a 20 minute walk to Tower Bridge. We parked in the Q car park tower bridge which is outside the congestion charge and a few minutes from tower bridge. If you have registered with your blue badge on tfl website you can park nearer to the hotel which is inside the congestion charge area. You are 100% exempt from charges. Check website for more details.
The hotel is lovely and the staff couldn't be more helpful . Our twin room was larger than average and very clean. The beds and linen are high quality and very comfortable. Big walk in rain shower and large bathroom.
The buffet breakfast is very good with wide choices and if you go for continental or full English with halal choices you will be very happy.
I would stay here again and hope to in the near future. Great find in a great area and if you book direct through their website you can get an extra 15 or 20% off the price with other offers as well.
Thank you forca great stay.

Not one to leave reviews but this was a really poor service.
We went as a group for work and the hotel staff seemed to be oblivious to the fact that we where giving them a decent amount of business.
Multiple team members had followed staff instructions for breakfast ordering, leaving notes on their room doors for their order. Breakfast never came on multiple mornings and we had to go to a conference without time to get something else - not a good service at all.
They use a taxi service that doesn't accept card which is an inconvenience in this day and age, I am sure they could quite easily switch to one that does, which would cater more to their customers needs.
One elevator wasn't working for the full week, leaving one operating elevator in the hotel. So multiple times had to take the stairs, which is fine, but after the 1st floor they are not even carpeted, it felt like being in a carpark more than a hotel.
The rooms are fine, decent bed, good shower, location also decent, but not connected or close to any underground service.
Just general poor service and lack of awareness by staff is not something I have come across while being away for business before.
Their was one female receptionist who checked us in on the afternoon of the 12.4.22 - who was quite helpful and nice but the rest of the staff where quite rude, especially the female receptionist working on 22.4.22 - morning/early afternoon shift for 11am checkout.

Hello JamielE0508, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for us I am happy you enjoyed the location and the actual hotel but saddened to see your experience with us was not all that positive firstly from me I would like to apologise if the stay left a sour taste in your mouth and I also apologise for the unorganised way that your stay was handled with us. With the taxi company they'll be able to be paid for via a bank transfer which get organised in advance, most likely this was not addressed to you. I am also very sorry for the experience you had with one of our team members this is not something that we hold ourselves to nor something we strive for, I have passed this information back and we'll work on making every single guest interaction a positive and friendly one so no guest feels in a similar way you did. I really hope to see you again and turn this negative experience into a positive one, Kindest Regards, Liam - Guest Service Manager

Exceptional place to stay, friendly staff who couldn’t be any more accommodating. Room was super comfortable, with a lovely big bed. Great location perfect for a trip to the Shard or London Bridge, Bermondsey is a really super area. I ended up staying two nights in a row and the staff upgraded me on the second night to a more plush room with a coffee machine, free bottles of water & orange juice in the fridge and an exceptional shower. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back here again, in fact the Shard is still on my bucket list….what more is there to say?

Fried Breakfast for £5.00 supplement
Both are very nice.
No, just the refrigerator.
