The hostel was well organised and very convenient, only a few yards from St Paul's Cathedral. The bedroom was comfortable. I found the breakfast excellent value and of good quality too. There was a large party of students there and they were catered for very efficiently. The staff. were friendly and helpful. I thought the value was exceptional, considering the...

I stayed just the one night here with 2 friends in a private room with a sink. First impressions of the hostal are good, welcoming staff and bright lounge area. The dining room is functional and breakfast was average although staff v friendly and said we could have as much as we liked. Our room was small (as we expected)...

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to review us at St Pauls, Im pleased you found my team helpful and friendly and of course I will pass on your comments on to my Housekeeping team. With reference to the pest control, unfortunately in the City Of London there is a high volume of pest activity, as a responsible accommodation provider...

A nice, comfortable and cheap place to stay but the main problem is noise. The bells of St Paul's ring every quarter of an hour. So if you're a light sleeper - or any kind of sleeper! - it might be best to avoid if you are staying for more than one night.

Hi Cat, Thanks for taking the time to review us, unfortunately the bells are beyond our control, although it disturbed you a lot of our guests find it part of the charm. Regards Steve Roberts General Manager

YHA St Paul is very handy for students and backpackers and if you are just looking for comfortable place to stay. They have a restaurant and their breakfast is great value for the price. Location is superb can't beat it. This place is central for transportation. Check it out yourself but don't expect luxury.

This is a hostel. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food is well cooked. Overall the building could do with some TLC. I liked the use of key cards that limited access to other accommodation areas. If you are just looking for a place to put your head down for a night or two...

Hi Dave, Thanks for taking the time to review us, great feedback about the team and Ill pass on. We are bit by bit updating parts of the hostel. As you saw we have recently completed our restaurant/dining area, in November last year we replaced all 213 beds and mattresses to ensure all beds have individual lights, sockets and usb...

Booked a last minute trip to London by train to see the Map exhibition at The British Library, visit to The Science Museum and St Paul's Cathedral and saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime at The Gielgud Theatre. Found St Paul's YHA easy to get to from Waterloo. Male receptionist very helpful. All residents friendly. Had...

It can be more interesting if the rooms are larger and cleaner. There is a problem of noise too. Concerning the bathrooms, it's not bad but, once again, you can do some efforts to make it more clean .

Hi, We appreciate all feedback from our guests however in the interest of fairness we expect our guests to inform us at the time of stay if they are not happy. Room. We were lucky and had the only double room with an en-suite on the ground floor. We will be on the second floor in the summer and there is no lift, but it's not like climbing Everest! Room was clean and the beds were very very comfortable. If there was any complaint at all, the room was far too...

Clean, safe and friendly. Nice to hear the Cathedral bells at night. Recommend for business or back packers. Bring earplugs, an eye mask, padlock and open mind if you are staying in a shared dormitory.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
