My two friends and I shared at room at the Travelodge Southwark for three nights in mid September 2015. The room was large enough for the 3 of us although the cot was very uncomfortable. Likely OK for a child, but not a full grown adult. The location was great for all of the tourist attractions. Within walking distance of...

Stopped at Southwark travelodge Saturday 26th September and on the Sunday morning went down for breakfast! There were about 15 people stud waiting for hot breakfast to come out, when it did come out there was only bits and not much. We had to ask for plate as there wasn't any out, we also had to ask for bread because...

A new hotel for me, but obviously recently refurbished. Bed comfortable - needed the air conditioning as window would not open. Pleasantly surprised. Need sockets by the bed - everyone uses their phone as a alarm clock these days.

Food not replenished when run out at breakfast, no manager to complain too, no chef cooking, no staff that could do much to tesolve the problem. Even ran out of butter. Complete waste of money and a formal complaint made. Shame as it's not a bad cheap hotel otherwise

Only a four cheese pizza was on offer late at night all though the leaflet boasts of 24 hour snacks being available. Breakfast was appalling, arrived 5 minutes after opening and there was no plates, sausages, eggs or beans. Half an hour later still waiting. Would not recommend.

Stayed here in room 121 a couple of weeks ago. Very basic room for what we paid. In general the hotel is heading down the 'run down' route. The main complaint being that the waterworks system is extremely noisy. Every time someone in the next room or the room above flushed the toilet or ran the water we had a...

At breakfast all fruit and croissants had run out. Not enough plates. Not enough seats. Not enough staff. Everyone asking or complaining. No one on reception desk for checkout and complaints re breakfast. Room, however, was large, well-planned and beds were comfortable.

very clean and comfy , very close to tubestation . didn't have any problem with noise(inside hotel or from outside). will be staying again. only 1 thing to moan about is that the window didn't open, but apart from that everything was perfect for our first visit to London for our 18yrs wedding anniversary.

Stayed here for 1 night on a theatre night out. I booked a family room. I think the room was overpriced. The location has nothing much there but underground is in the next road which was good and a corner shop next door. in the rooms the windows are glass panels you can't open them. I did ask to be...

Stayed here as handy for business meeting. Area is ok but not the best. Room typical Travelodge standard, it worked, reasonable price for central London, fairly clean. Not so good were gurgling air conditioning unit which made a noise most of the night even when switched off, non opening windows and noise from the street at nightclub closing time even...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
