Check in easy but can understand why people are saying it took a long time but that’s purely because of Covid procedures. Had to use the lift as stairs were blocked off. Room was great, you control your own temp/lights. Got our room very warm. Balcony is good, although it’s shared around the whole floor it’s so nice to have! To open the door and look over Liverpool! Shower worked well, plenty of toiletries and towels. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits (all premium) provided. Had room service for drinks - quick and easy. Sky Sports in the room too which is unusual but fantastic for 2 football enthusiasts! Proposed in the room and the staff managed to get my partner out of the room whilst I decorated. Didn’t have breakfast there but did have afternoon tea that was absolutely banging! Great price too!!

For the price of the McCartney suite I didn't feel like it was up to scratch. Surfaces in the place were dusty, carpet was nice and soft but was stained in places. The black sofa in the room had a collapsed arm rest, large lamp in the corner above the red recliner didn't work, left hand bed light also didn't work. Bathroom was spot on, but shower head provided a feeble dribble at best. Also the small things like the lack of tea/sugar in the room but did have 4 coffee pods. Breakfast had to be sent back as was stone cold, got it replaced but scrambled eggs/beans were still cold, toast was just warm bread at best. Not out and out terrible but could do with a scrub and refresh. There are better places to stay in Liverpool though.

Dear Calh525, Thank you for leaving a review, I am very sorry for the issues you have raised, I will be bringing everything mentioned regarding the room itself, to both Housekeeping & Maintenance, to make sure they are fixed. I do hope you will stay again with us so we can show you this was not the experience that we strive to give. In regards to the tea & sugar, there was a caddy inside the cupboard separate from the Nespresso machine. I will also be checking with the kitchen to make sure breakfast is being sent out at the correct temperatures. Thank you for your feedback. Kind regards Tim Brown

Our trip was difficult from check in. We had to wait 45 minutes to check in just to the amount of people that was checking in. When I finally got to the check in desk they told me that my booking was not accepted and that there was no rooms available, even though I had confirmation. They eventually resolved this however the room wasn’t ready and we had to wait a further 60 minutes. We asked the reception to call us when the room was ready and the response was “I’ll try”. the lifts were broken and we had to climb up 4 flights of stairs with all our luggage. When we got to the room we was disappointed. We had booked a luxury double room with a balcony originally, this got cancelled as they had none of these rooms even though they was available to book. The room we was supposed to then receive was a luxury double room. However the room we received was not what the pictures stated. It was much smaller than what the photos advised and it had 0 windows to open. There was no pillows on the bed as shown in the photos. The bed quality wasn’t the best and we had a bad nights sleep due to the lack of pillows. Many other guests had issues similar to ours and complained to the front desk however due to wait at the start we couldn’t be bothered moaning. I would say the hotel wasn’t great value for the price as I have stayed in similar hotels in Liverpool with 0 issues

Dear joshuamM6730KF, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review of your experience. I was disappointed to see elements of your stay were not to our usual high standards. We have a duty of care to all our guests when staying with us, as you can understand we have to ensure all our rooms are perfectly sanitized before our guests walk in, this does add on extra time and we also must ensure all chemicals used to perform this process is safe for our guests to enter the room. I'm disappointed you never stuck around to discuss the issues you had throughout your stay, I would like to apologize for the breakdown of our lifts, this was something out of the hotels control. I do hope to welcome you back to us in the not too distant future, please stay safe and well. Best Wishes, Liam Baker-Bellew Front Office Manager
