I left a full rating on Booking.com in September last year. We have been several times before and. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was renovation work going on which has to be done at some point. The lift was broken lift so the other lift was really busy (my husband is disabled) and had 10 mins wait at some point. They did get somebody out to fix the lift but he got in the lift with my husband without a mask despite them being mandatory in the hotel. He still didn’t put one on when he asked him to. Our jacuzzi bath was dirty around the jets and debris came out when they were moved- not ideal when your in a pandemic and the rooms were supposed to be thoroughly cleaned. The main problem started around midnight. The couple above had fallen asleep in their bath and it began to overflow. We couldn’t get the phone to work so had to get dressed and go to reception. The girl attending to us said that it was fine. They had turned it off so it would stop dripping soon and we could clean the wet floor. When I expressed my concerns about the electrics as it was coming through the light fitting she just said we would be ok as the electric would trip if it was dangerous. The security guy was great and managed to get us moved to another room. This was quite an inconvenience at this time of night having to pack up and transfer when we should have been asleep. The jets on the bath didn’t work properly when we tried in the morning and the shower leaked across the ceiling. I brought the concerns up with the reception in the morning and they gave me a feedback form to complete. I did not hear anything back from this nor from the hotel when I contacted them. I felt that the customer service was very poor on this occasion …
Best night ever all staff are amazingly helpful the kids loved the restaurant on the roof top can’t wait to stay again. The kids absolutely loved it my little son took a shine to Jonny he was amazing thanks again 30 James street can’t wait for our next stay
It was an amazing trip away we stayed for 3 nights 14-17th December, all staff were so lovely, smiley and nothing was too much trouble, if we needed anything at all we just had to ask! We asked for ice buckets to the room, came within 5 minutes, we had dinner on the rooftop restaurant, lovely food, drinks and speedy service, we were advised to go on the terrace too and look at the views for some photo opportunities. The room was evidently well looked after and the jacuzzi in the bathroom was a great addition to the room! We have already said we will stay again! Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful. Whilst it's not generally a good time for a wedding, one of the best parts of the occasion was the consideration we got from the James Steet events staff. We could not have asked for kinder attention from them,and the waiting staff, for our small celebration where particular attention was paid to keeping us safe. Thank you.
Stayed here for a birthday celebration had the stay and dine offer, fantastic hotel from check in to check out nothing was to much trouble for the staff a credit to the hotel all of them polite made a effort to talk to you and make you feel welcome ,the food was 1st class and as a chef I am hard to please,only little draw back was the jacuzzi bath didn't work I didn't report it just got on with it .the room was stunning if not little worn in places but it would not put me off staying again... we are looking to stay again very soon .
