The room had a comfy bed and good powerful shower. However (this was in February) there was still a lot of nightclub noise outside even on a Monday night and it didn't stop until 4am. Room light flickered, the TV didn't work and we weren't offered a choice of what we wanted for our cooked breakfast - just given a fry.

Great location. Not too expensive. Free wifi which worked perfectly. Room is small but clean. Fantastic shower. It is noisy outside we didn't mind. There's lot of great pubs next to it too. Would stay again

We arrived to a friendly receptionist. But it all went down hill from there. We went to enter the bar and were told it was full and we couldn't go in. We decided to go out and eat elsewhere, when we arrived back we went into the bar and had a couple of drinks as it was now quiet. When we went to bed throughout the night we had someone attempt to get into our room 8 times and they started to bang on our door, last attempt was 4.27 in the morning. The guests in the room above arrived back in the early hours and fell over a few times sounding like they were coming through the ceiling. When leaving we went to hand our keys at reception, it was all in darkness so left them on the desk. When we arrived home i called and spoke with a very abrupt receptionist who asked what i wanted her to do. She said 2 people had been thrown out of the hotel from a stag do due to miss behaving. She then said why didnt you coming down and report to the night porter. I explained 1. We didnt know there was one 2. We shouldn't have to and 3. Does he not do walk rounds checking on the building. She then said i really don't know what you are complaining about. She tried to get the manager to take the call but he/she was not available. Again asking what i was complaining about. I told her not to worry and said i would write a review, with a reply of carry on. Never again would we be staying in that hotel.

would loved to have given it 5 stars just 2 things stopped that one the hotel can do nothing about. right all the great things about the hotel, the staff cannot be faulted very helpful and pleasant the location city centre hotel very clean bar downstairs great.rooms while not the largest fine for a short stay, bed very comfy bedding fine towels changed daily tea and coffee facilities provided.tv provided toietries also.shower great as hot as required good heating, breakfast really good full english cereals fruit juice yoghurts tea coffee and always 2 slices of hot buttered toast delivered to your table by a very pleasant lady.will cook your eggs as you like. and fially the price for all that £168 for 2 people 4 nights bed and breakfast brilliant, now 2 bad points the street noise is very loud and even weekdays can go on till 4-5 am so be aware,2nd point is no lift about 30 steps to 1st floor so if you have mobility problems could be a problem. but overall for the price and everything else no brainer, but you decide i was very happy.nearlly forgot wi fi worked great and free and free safe.

Stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a friends 40th with 7 friends we rang ahead and housekeeping could not be more helpful we asked if they could decorate the room and she went above and beyond place looked lovely. Night porter when we were leaving was also lovely and deserves a special mention the location of the hotel is fantastic the breakfast really wasn't good I'm sorry to say out of 4 of us that went for breakfast no one could eat it really is not good , the hotel room is very clean but dated but for the money you can't complain I would definitely stay here again for location and value for money
