Stayed over after a wedding. Firstly the marquee is lovely, a great wedding venue. However the taps in the women's toilets didn't work so no hand washing! The rooms, very basic, shelves hanging off, decor white with bits of bed headboard cut up and put on the wall as pictures. Carpet needs replacing. No tea or coffee facility in the room although that may be covid related Bed was comfy although a little noisy, pillows nice. No hot breakfast, not sure why as they are serving hot food at other times, instead it was a grab bag which had nothing of any use in, poor,...no croissant or pan au chocolate, instead we got a muffin, yoghurt, orange and a bottle of orange (who wants an orange and a bottle of orange, different fruit needed) The outside grounds are nice, the hotel could be lovely but it seems there's a lack of effort to make it so, shame , hotels have had time to put right issues like shelves, paint etc but nothing done here it seems.

When I booked this hotel they didn’t send me confirmation email or anything! So I needed to book another hotel as I couldn’t remember the name. The hotel didn’t send me any confirmation, why I’d been charged for my no stay, anything! They just charged me. Im trying to contact the hotel 4 times and they are keeping telling me to call tomorrow because they are not able to help! Basically they just charged me without any reason and without proof!

Dear Sir, Firstly let me explain you booked your reservation through booking.com not the hotel, your confirmation will have been sent from booking.com not the hotel, If you did not receive any communication from booking.com you should have taken this up with them, we as a hotel received your confirmation so I am perplexed as to why you never. The hotel have made no error, we are following procedures the same as any other hotel, you did not show up so therefore you incur cost of nights stay, we have tried to call you to explain this but unfortunately you put the phone down on one of our managers. So in actual fact you have not been overcharged you failed to arrive at the hotel.

I was staying at the Devonshire for a work course and had no idea what to expect as I booked it last minute. It’s fair to say a lot of people have been extremely unfair on their reviews as I had a really pleasant stay and any member of staff I went to for any queries, they went beyond the call of duty to help. Would recommend to anyone.

Paid a £500 deposit for Mothers Day. The Devonshire cancelled the event due to the coronavirus but then refused everybody like us a refund. Instead they offered vouchers. I will seek legal advice on this but this is a warning to anyone not to be taken in by their pretence of a caring attitude, they have dealt with hundreds of us appallingly. *** DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE, DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE ***
