Iv stayed at this hotel many times and the staff and rooms have always been good but this week I stayed for two nights with work as I installed safety equipment so I have to travel with my work as we are in lockdown you can only travel and stay in hotels with a valid permit to work but it seems that the Adelphi is allowing anybody in there was a gentleman with two children and over ten teenagers collecting food from the restaurant and three of them with no mask on, even one of the staff walked by me with his mask around his neck not covering his mouth or nose, two of the hand sanitizer stations were empty this is very poor practice I was disappointed and disgusted.
What a beautiful building. But such a shame it's fallen massively into disrepair. So much so that they have reduced the prices to attract people, unfortunately this has had a negative effect. Not saying everyone is like that as we took a chance on it. Never again. There were people coming in all hours, no respect for others, loud, the reception area stinks of weed,. The rooms were dull, first room they offered us didn't even have a TV it looked abandoned, there was not a chance we were stopping in it. Second was a little better but not much. I like to post on social media when we've been places but too embarrassed to tell anyone we stayed here. The carpark was more like a piece of waste ground. They say it is monitored by cctv, can't see it myself, don't waste your money. If you do still decide to stay here after reading all the reviews then I would suggest parking in the multistorey across the road much cheaper and safer.…
Pungent smell of weed on 4th floor. Spoke to reception about it who claimed “it’s not our problem, what do you expect us to do, we have over 400 guests in the hotel”. Even worse, it’s a non-smoking floor. So now I have to deal with the smell because I don’t want to call the police, yet my asthma is acting up. There was also a drunk man passed out on the floor (floor 1 corridor) which the staff just walked past. Hopefully they have CCTV to check this out. On my complaint, I was met with “Perhaps you are drunk” even though I was asking them for a bottle opener so I could have 1 drink. They didn’t bother to find one for me, and still used that as an excuse. Probably on purpose. And, as I waited for them to sort something out for me, the receptionist went and mocked me to another, which I promptly called them out on. And was met with “oh, not me, not me!” But, was stupid enough, when they thought I was gone, to go and gloat about it to security which I have recorded. Abysmal service. Walk past a fainted man. Ignore the needs of asthmatic people. Do nothing about smoking weed on a non-smoking floor. Only upside is it’s a one night stay. Disgusting service, disgusting rooms, and disgusting utilities. Spend your money elsewhere.…
Covid compliancy is laughable. Card key didn’t work, had to be assisted - swapping cards between people no sanitiser. Rooms in awful state. Reception rude and unhelpful. Laughed at complaint. Vile stay
