This review really deserves a 0..We booked this hotel for a 1 night stay, we arrived at the hotel it looked really run down. There was a note on the door saying closed due to covid 19 for bookings please ring our sister hotel. I rang the number several times no answer I left a voicemail for someone to contact me ,I'm still waiting!! I did try ringing the hotel itself but the number wasn't allowed calls. This was a bank holiday weekend. I did book through booking.com who have been really good. Luckily we managed to get a room at another hotel. Don't risk booking if you want to be guaranteed somewhere to stay. This used to be a nice hotel dont know what's gone wrong !!
open air bar quaint little place service 7 star free wifi multi lingual staff seclueded little heaven live music venue free flowing gin bar also priced reasonabley food avail on request to suit all pallets pet friendly only problem issues with parking alltogether outstanding defo go again
The staff were pleasant the beds were uncomfortable and one of them was frayed at the bottom the little cartons of milk in the room were off and when the cups had been changed they were dirty we won't go back
It's a shame there isn't a zero star rating, because there is nothing about this hotel has any star qualities, except for one or two of the staff, who tried to be helpful in spite of having no backup from the hotel owner/management. The rooms are all in dire need of a complete overhaul with scruffy and torn wallpaper, shower attachments that fall off the wall, loose towel rails, and a general run down feeling all round. The owner/management are also playing fast and loose with Booking.com; my booking was unexpectedly cancelled on Booking.com and had to call the hotel direct to rebook, I held them to the same room rate (it had gone up on Booking.com), but clearly they benefit more from direct bookings! However, the worst issue for our stay was that our room was in the main part of the hotel above the bar/TV lounge area, which was very noisy until 6am in the morning, resulting in a completely lost nights sleep! We tried to raise a complaint with the on duty barman that night, who was not interested, and then again with the girl at reception on Sunday morning; she advised that she was unable to deal with our complaint as only the hotel owner would be able to approve and compensate for the disturbance we had suffered. Not unacceptable in a 24x7 industry! Subsequent emails to the hotel owner to raise a complaint and provide them with an opportunity to address this were met with a total blank...clearly they have no regard for customer service! WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!…
Nice little hotel. 9 girls away for a birthday celebration- a room for 3 and room for 6. Clean, warm rooms, with beds made and clean towels provided for second night. Tea/coffee provided. The 6 person room had a little kitchen with microwave, washing machine and fridge. Great service at the bar and a good value breakfast. Friendly, polite staff who provided good service. Would recommend for a group trip. Taxi around £5-7 to get into town. Lidle and mac d opposite and a small cafe called capaldis just around the corner that also did a great breakfast.
