I would like to outline my most recent visit in which I stayed at the premier inn Leicester city centre hotel on 4-5th June. To start off with I would like to mention that i stayed at the hotel 2 years ago in which i had a lovely experience which made me book it again for this times stay. However the 2 experiences are not comparable at all and was really let down on my most recent stay which has lead me to composing this email and would like for some action to be taken. I arrived at the hotel to check in on the evening of 4th June. From the very second I walked through the door I was let down. I went to the check in desk but there was no staff available for about 5 minutes of waiting. I then went to the self check in computers and found that it was not working. I then found a member of staff walking through the lobby so i made them aware that i need to check in. Upon which she walked past without stopping or giving me eye contact to tell me she will be with me shortly. She raised her finger at me to indicate she will be a minute. I waited a few minutes after which she “emma - duty manager” came. The manner in which she was talking to me came across very rude and not hospitable at all. I already didnt feel welcome at this point. Not once did she say “welcome to premier inn” or or “how can i help you” or even a simple “hi”. I had to say the first line which was i would like to check in please. To which she straight asked for my details instead of a greeting message. Moving on, i got my hotel card and made my way up to my room. I tried switching my room lights on but they weren’t working so i had to go back down to an empty reception desk and wait to be seen to. Once i made emma aware of this situation her response was “sorry, weve got no other rooms available, were fully booked”. No acknowledgement of the inconvenience and the fact that i booked the room a week ago which meant you had plenty of time to make sure the room was in good working order. I insisted that it needs to be resolved. But she didnt seem to make any effort to try and resolve it. Unfortunately as it was almost 11pm and there was no chance of me finding another place to stay i had to stay at the hotel but with the service I received it was the last place i wanted to stay. All of this took about 1 hour and it was pure inconvenience from the hotel and also rude and disheartening customer service from your team members. I would like to kindly ask if you could resolve this by providing me with a refund for my stay and who i need to contact for the car park because it was a night i would like to genuinely forget ever happened. I chose premier inn as i knew i would have a nice relaxed night after a long tiring day but it turned out to be more stressful and the service that i received was really frustrating. It was last place i wanted to be but I had to continue my stay for the night as I had no time to book anything else. I would like some sort of resolution by means of refund for my booking and car park charge and some assurance that this sort of customer service and general hotel service is not how you represent your company. I would like to be able to leave a good review on google and trust pilot but my decision will be heavily dependant on your response to your response to this email. I would love to hear back from you as soon as possible. Also i was told by emma, the general manager would give me a call on Saturday at 12pm to discuss the incident but i didn’t receive any call from the manager on Saturday nor sunday and neither today. I wasnt greeted as i entered and no acceptable apology was even uttered from start to finish. Really poor hospitality from a well established business.

I decided to have a weekend away at the last minute and chose the Premier Inn Leicester City Centre for my evening stopover. I didn’t realise that check-in was from 2pm onwards but the reception staff were very pleasant about it. Once checked in I was in the 10th floor - I know you’re going to get views of some ancillary buildings and services but the room itself was bright, fresh, spacious, well furnished, and comfortable. More importantly it was airy and clean 👍🏻 I was impressed with the security arrangements - your room card access the main reception from the outside and also controls lift access too. Everywhere was clean, neat, and tidy, and the social distancing measures in place worked great! Plenty of hand sanitiser stations too! The weather put a dampener on sightseeing but nevertheless I had a great time exploring the local area. I’m not a great sleeper in a different bed but my night was comfortable and the breakfast this morning was just superb - the cooked breakfast fast with a couple of croissants and an extra latte - and all with table service too. Checkout was super easy - drop your card off and away you go! Overall, the cleanliness throughout the hotel was great and the service from both the reception staff yesterday and the breakfast staff and management staff this morning was simply faultless, welcoming, pleasant, and friendly! Would I stay here again? Absolutely I would !! And with being only a short walk from Leicester station make sure you get it on your list of places to stay for your weekend breaks!! Well done Premier Inn and a big thank you for a great overnight stay!!

Terrible service. Surly staff. Have too many issues to mention here, but essentially Premier Inn are NOT cleaning rooms unless you ask them too, but nobody actually tells you this. Plenty of ‘enhanced cleaning’ literature about, but nobody actually tells you you need to ASK them to do it, which is a major flaw in normal and expected service Of any hotel. Nobody was ever around to even ask. Was ignored for 15 mins at breakfast so had to leave for work. Left a note asking for a refund and reasons why. Nobody responded. Nobody on reception... ever... Premier Inn is normally excellent on all these points... however this was the absolute worst.

If you could rely on one thing at Premier Inns - it was the comfy bed and standard room layout. Leicester City Centre Premier Inn must have recently hosted the `destroy the mattress - bed bouncing championships!!` the bed was awful. The springs had gone, it was lumpy and you could help but roll into the centre. Meal wasn't good and a rip off for what we had.

With the exception of one amazing member of staff this was a truly terrible experience in regards to the staffing levels and service quality - great location, parking great , rooms as you would expect but so far away from the brand it was shocking
